Here's a good "gap-filler" bottle for your collection of early soda bottles! Great to display until you can find a better example.

Vintage, circa 1915 green glass ( similar to the green color of this lettering ) straight-sided COCA-COLA bottle from the MOBILE ALABAMA Coca-Cola Bottling Works! Early Spencerian script Coca-Cola logo appears THREE times in different sizes on this bottle: Very large on the "front" of the bottle; smaller (and weirder-looking) around the base; and on the very bottom of the bottle itself.

Measures 8" tall, and is 2" in diameter at the base. The words COCA-COLA TRADE MARK REGISTERED are embossed in the center of the "front" of the bottle. There is nothing on the opposite side. Embossed and running completely around the bottom of the bottle near the base is: PROPERTY OF THE COCA-COLA (odd variation of the script logo) BOTTLING CO., MOBILE, ALA. The Coca-Cola script is embossed on the bottom, with what seems to be a large, backwards number "2" underneath it.

Appears to be a bottle from a mold, as there are two vertical lines going up and down each side. There is also the unusual added feature of a thickly embossed horizontal FILL line, on the neck of the bottle!! 

I am NOT an expert on these kinds of bottles, but will do my best to describe it honestly and accurately. LOTS of abrasions and pitting across the embossed words on the bottle, and the bottle itself. At least two bad, deep chips on the edge of and bottom of the bottle (not affecting "Coca-Cola" or the backwards "2"; a chip does intrude on the letters "TY" in "PROPERTY" and the "O" in "OF"). There are lots of bubbles in the glass itself, which was inherent in the manufacture of these early pop bottles. Quite a bit of "swirling" and cloudy haziness in the glass. This bottle is also pretty dirty inside and out. Needs a very good, thorough washing. 

PLEASE view the photos above; I tried to provide as many clear photos as I could.

This may have been a dug bottle long ago. A bottle enthusiast should be able to clean it properly, and really make it shine and sparkle! 

In spite of its many problems, and signs of age and wear, it's STILL VERY enjoyable and displayable! What a great addition to a soda pop bottle enthusiast's collection!! Will look terrific displayed with Hutchinson bottles of the same era! Not only of interest to collectors of Coca-Cola, but also to collectors of Pepsi-Cola and other early colas and soft drinks!
