c1900 VICTORIAN MOUTH BLOWN GREEN GLASS CENTERPIECE EPERGNE

Presented is a beautiful green blown glass epergne or centerpiece made during the late 19th century or very early 20th century. This handsome piece is done in two parts. The bottom part resembles a large compote. The center of the compote has an opening that allows the base of the piece to be filled with water, flowers, marbles, or any other material. The second piece is a tall fluted insert that could serve as a bud vase. The bottom of the vase has a tip and rim like a decanter stopper so that the center bud vase fits tightly into the bottom. The bottom piece can be used with or without the upper piece. The upper piece cannot be used alone.

This handsome two part piece is without maker's mark. It is mouth blown glass and almost certainly American from the late 1800s or early 1900s. There are tiny variations in the glass which is to be expected with mouth blown glass. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, no repairs, and no problems of any kind with this piece.

The piece is 8 inches tall without the insert.

The piece is 14 inches tall with the insert.

The piece is 9 inches wide.
