WALLACE NUTTING (1861-1941)- In 1904 due to ill health, Wallace Nutting began touring the New England countryside taking photographs of rural America which was quickly dissapearing even back then. After the photograph was taken he would assign a title to it then he would instruct an artist on how it was to be hand colored. Then the finished work would be hand signed below and then mounted to matt board and framed.

This original Wallace Nutting photograph was hand tinted and measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" and was mounted to matt board and framed to 15 1/2" x 18 1/2". It is hand signed in brown ink below "WALLACE NUTTING" and the title states "BONNIE MAY" on lower left hand side.

Condition: there is a few water stains on border of the matt board the most notable being on the bottom right side. Matt board is somewhat dirty but another matt can easily be placed over it. The photograph is in pretty nice shape with no water stains and just a slight wavyness to it near border. The wooden frame could use a painting and appears to be an original.

Dating c.1915-1930, Nutting photographs have become very collectible recently and will only appreciate in value and this is just a superb example of one of his country scenes.
