Architecture for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that seeks architectural solutions to humanitarian crisis and brings professional design services to communities in need. Current projects include Post-Katrina housing, youth centers in Southern Africa, sports for change facilities in Haiti and Brazil, orphanages in India and upgrading classrooms in the US.

THE I LOVE ARCHITECUTRE ART+ARCHITECTURE AUCTION, OUR SPRING FUNDRAISING EFFORT, ORIGINATED AS AN ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN TO GARNER SUPPORT AND BOOST MORALE IN WHAT HAS BEEN A DIFFICULT TIME FOR THE ARCHITECTURE INDUSTRY. WE RECEIVED ORIGINAL HAND SKETCHES AND OTHER WORKS FROM OVER 50 HIGHLY RESPECTED AND PROLIFIC ARCHITECTS, ARTISTS, AND DESIGNERS WHO RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS CAMPAIGN AND OUR WORK IN GENERAL. About Zoka Zola
Zoka Zola is a Croatia-born, Chicago-based architect. In 1990, she received the RIBA Student Award. She worked for a number of well known studios including David Chipperfield Architects, Sir Michael Hopkins + Partners, OMA in London; Prof. Vittorio De Feo, Prof. Francesco Cellini, Prof. Paolo Portoghesi in Rome; and Prof Wilhelm Holzbauer in Vienna. Qualified as an architect in the UK in 1990, Zoka established her own studio in London. In 1995, she received the Young Architect of the Year Award, an annual award to one individual, in the UK. During her years in London, she also taught architecture as a Senior Lecturer at the Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, and she was a Unit Master at the Architectural Association in London. In 1997, Zoka moved to Chicago where she first worked at De Stefano and Partners and started teaching at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Later, Zoka established her own studio in Chicago and designed her own house, completed in July 2002, which won the Home of the Year Award as the best home in North America. Over the years she continues to be a guest lecturer at many universities nationally and internationally.
Architecture for Humanity lends time and expertise to help those who cannot otherwise afford these services. Each year 25,000 people directly benefit from structures designed by Architecture for Humanity, and to date the organization has built community centers, schools and housing for communities in 22 countries, including rebuilding in Japan and Haiti. From conception to completion, we manage all aspects of the design and construction process with the expertise of our Design Fellows, young and emerging architects who join us to give their full time to one or more of our projects. Q. Will a receipt be provided? A. Yes, a receipt for the final bid amount paid will be provided by Kompolt.
Q. Is there sales tax? A. Sales tax will be collected for items shipped to residents of: CA (7.75%), NY (7.0%), NC (7.0%), TX (6.5%), and VA (5.0%).
Q. Is this purchase tax deductible? A. Please contact your personal tax advisor for information on this issue.
Q. Delivery information for auction item. A. Unless otherwise stated in the auction listing, all items are shipped via Federal Express. Winning bidders must provide a physical address, phone number, and signature for delivery. Sorry, we cannot deliver to P.O. boxes. Barring unanticipated circumstances and/or any special fulfillment conditions stated in the above description, the expected delivery time is 3-4 weeks after final payment is received and acknowledged. International bidders will be required to supply a fed ex account number or credit card to cover any duties or taxes.
Q. Will my item come with a Letter of Authenticity? A. Yes, a Letter of Authenticity signed by a representative of Architecture for Humanity will be provided.

Architecture for Humanity, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, will provide a receipt for the tax-deductible amount of your purchase less the estimated value of the item.
