YoungAmerica Flag.
John Marshall, and his PACT 95, representing the New York Yacht Club, built the sailboat “Young America” USA-36 to challenge for the right to be the defender in the 1995 America’s Cup Regatta sailed in San Diego California. “Young America” was truly memorable because of its Mermaid graphics designed by famed painter, Roy Lichtenstein. Young America eventually sailed as the defender but under the control of Dennis Conner and his Stars & Stripes syndicate.
The flag has never been flown and measures 18 by 24 inches.
PS: I got these items while serving as Operations Officer for the USCG America's Cup Patrol.
