My guitar authority friends agree (who have multiple Taylors and Martins) are completely taken aback - They cannot understand how Yamaha has been able to package all this at a fraction of the cost of these more prestigious guitars. The action is part of your hand. The tone depth and fullness are just stop and listen to. It is something that you look forward to sitting down and playing, working, having a conversation with - the only challenge is to be heard over the powerful volume it puts out

The yamaha 730s is such an under-appreciated instrument. It sounds nearly as good, if not better, than many more expensive guitars I have played, including Martins and I love the yamaha neck. At a sound hole bar pickup and a fishman preamp pedal and you have an excellent electric. And - at this price, if you bump it during gigs or get a little smoke and barbeque sauce on it around the fire - who cares.....

Am a lifelong fan of Yamaha guitars. At any one time, I will have at least 5. The FG700s and FG800 were my favorites until I got this, but it is a definite step up in looks and sound. A solid Sitka spruce top, on a guitar that a beginner can afford, Where else do you see that? Nowhere! I got a great deal on a b-stock, and it took me a week to notice a minor blemish. I'll take blemishes like that all day for over a hundred off. Beautiful guitar, and amazing sound. The best deal in acoustic guitars today.

I got my Yamaha FG 730S with a Yamaha hard shell case and a bunch of other goodies, and I couldn't be happier with the package. This is my second Yamaha, I had a FG 230 12-string back in the 70s, and this brand absolutely amazes me...how much you get for the money. For what you pay, the build quality and the sound quality of Yamaha guitars is unsurpassed IMO. This FG 730S produces an amazing sound, very full but with crisp and distinct highs. It's a sound quality you would expect from guitars costing hundreds more. Go for the deal that includes the hard shell Yamaha guitar case, you'll be glad you did. It's a first class case, nothing cheap about this one. It's made for this guitar series, and it will protect it well. This is an acoustic guitar that will support your music in brilliant fashion. In this day and age, when money is tight, if you're looking to get as much guitar as you can for very little money, this really is the choice to make. Honestly, you will be amazed, and very happy.Read full review
Playing guitar for 22+ years. Ive been around a lot and seen whats out there. The yamaha fg730s is a well built and high quality. The price is very fair compared to gibson or taylor instruments. Best buy for short money by far. I would encourage putting this guitar up against any big name high priced guitar.
