First of i would like to say that i bought gta sa when it first came out and then later again, for me san andreas has been one of the best games of all time especially in the GTA saga but for me it has been my favorite from the saga mainly because of the free roam, story, gameplay, setting, for those who have not played it i highly recommend it. what i really enjoyed of this game was the story, a young man leaves san andreas to leave all his problems behind and then is forced to come back when his mother is murdered as he arrives the problems start to arise from crooked cops to gangs to his own so called "friend" but i will not spoil it for you, with the arriving of gta 4 the gta franchise has really improved and has set a new bar for other sandbox style games to come, there is so much to do in the game, from starting out as a new comer to controlling your gang up to customizing your cars to flying planes helicopters gambling in casinos buying houses and much much more and even parachuting off buildings!!!, and the music is just great from tupac to james brown to guns and roses, and also talk shows which are HILARIOUS again if you have not played this game i advice you go and buy it NOW!!!!...p.s. Finally a game worth paying $50-$60 dollars for(or less on EBAY!). This game has such open play that there are literally thousands of game play hours. The story involves CJ, a young man returning to his home who winds up trying to prove himself to his former street gang. The game is basically an entire state, broken into three different towns. Each town is open, meaning you can complete missions or do whatever else you would like(i.e. stealing cars, becoming a fireman, etc.) There are so many missions and submissions that there is no way to complete them all(without help). Without buying the Game Guide, I wouldn't have known many of the missions even existed. All this means is that you are finally getting what you pay for, a great game, a lot of fun, that is still very challenging. Enjoy!Read full review
This has to be one of the greatest games of all time.....I made a mistake when I sold my xbox and this game...I never knew that years later I would be at it again. GTA:SA is very broad; the map is broad and the game is long, you can learn new fighting styles, get haircuts, buy clothes, mod cars, race cars, have gang wars and fight for turf, make your own radio station with songs from your pc, ride almost anything from bicycles to four-wheelers to airplanes to tractors, go skydiving, run in marathons, and much more.
San Andreas is by far the crown jewel of the Rockstar Lineup. As Carl Johnson you return to the fictional city of Los Santos after your mother has been murdered. Along the way you meet a slew of characters, voiced by high profile celebrities such as James Woods, Samuel L. Jackson, and many others. Unlike previous GTA games, San Andreas is a state, with three large cities and miles of sprawling country side. The storyline of this game is great, with a plot that will keep you interested from start to finish. Once you complete the storyline the game remains fresh with plenty of mini games, side missions, and the overall fun that comes with causing random mayhem by gunning down pedestrians, blowing up cars, skydiving, swimming, working out, and more. Your video game collection is not complete until you own a copy of San Andreas, arguably the greatest game ever to hit any console.Read full review
I've played through the original PS2 version of this game and recently bought the XBOX version 2.0 and it looks great on the XBOX, even a better on the XBOX 360 and the 360 controller button layout works much better. To its not as grainy or faded as the first PS2 version and some of the game ...not all but some of the early PS2 game glitches have been fixed. Overall the improvements are in the graphics and the same trash talking lovable C.J. is untouched. This version is minus the hot coffee mod which isn't really that good, because even if you did use the hot coffee mod, the memory card was unusable afterwards and I pity the fool who ran that mod off a PS2 HDD. Version 2 via XBOX is a good choice if haven't played GTA: San Andreas before, although you might want to score on a PS2 Version 2 to use AR codes and have less frustration when doing Zero's side missions and those flying through those blasted sky circles. Its playable on the 360 and you might need to go the official 360 website and burn your self a updated game driver CD thingy that allows some XBOX games to played on the 360.Read full review
