Wonder Woman starring Lynda Carter is like one of those ice cream treats that I used to bug my parents for during the hot summer months in Arizona. They hold a special place in my memory and I always wish to relive those days. When I was eight, my mother would sit with my sister and I to watch Wonder Woman in syndication during mid-summertime, when it was too hot to play outside. I remember most, the opening credits when Wonder Woman transformed from an animated character into Lynda Carter AS Wonder Woman, and then jumped down from a platform to strike a heroic pose and that winning smile that Lynda Carter STILL possesses in her featured roles in films like SKY HIGH and THE DUKES OF HAZARD. Those memories have been carried with me my entire life, just like going to see Dick Donner's SUPERMAN when I was three years old. Lynda Carter and Christopher Reeve will forever be immortalized as Wonder Woman and Superman, in my mind. This dvd set that I have purchased is one that I will smile at when I see it on my shelf next to the Warner Bros. Special Edition of SUPERMAN, however, I still long for a big budget theatrical release of the Amazon Wonder in her own first feature. Until then I will enjoy this classic beauty as realized by the quintessential Amazon Princess's adventures.Read full review
While the first season takes place in the 1940s during World War II, the second season moved to contemporary times and the third season continued that. Lynda Carter herself preferred the second and third seasons as she explains in her commentary on the DVD. Similar to the X-Files, Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) and Steve Trevor are government agents with the Inter-Agency Defense Command (IADC) investigating unusual paranormal cases. The episodes are very diverse, ranging from aliens, people with psychic abilities, two people time traveling from the future, etc. There is a great documentary about Wonder Woman as a role model and feminist icon, which she most certainly is.
All Wonder Woman's three seasons are worth watching. It is fun to watch Wonder Woman reruns for someone who does not have any other way of watching them. The resolution in these DVD's a lot sharper than what it was on TV back in the seventies. This is the way to see how beautiful Lynda Carter looked in her mid to late twenties and how well she acted. The stunt work in these episodes is worth replaying. One must watch all these episodes one by one to find out which one the best is for that viewer.

Lynda Carter is so perfectly cast as Wonder Woman, it’s hard to see ANYONE else in the role. I grew up with Carter, as others are now, with Gadot. The series may be cheesy and of another time, but that’s the fun of it.
