You will receive a sepia-tone 5-inch by 7-inch (5x7) print that will ship the next business day after you pay, unless you request substitutions in eBay on the same day that you pay. The substitutions that are available are described below. For example, you can request to substitute an 8x10 or images on a CD at no additional charge. 11x14 and larger-size prints are also available for an additional charge (see below).
This improved print has been or will be custom-made for you new, in a photo lab. We have taken great care to preserve the sharpness and antique look while removing scratches, spots, and other damage that would make it less viewable. We have repaired imperfections and improved tonal values. We have added detail views here that will not appear on your photo (see "What are the detail views?" below).
Why buy this photo: This print would be a good conversation starter in a restaurant, lodge, cabin, sporting goods store, or bait shop. Decorators use our sepia-tone prints in a variety of ways to make them look old (see "Tone options" below). This photo could also be a gift for a history buff. It can be resold in a store (see "Wholesale lots" below). Our photos can be used in school reports, presentations, and displays. This is a significantly improved version of the image and must be licensed for use in a publication, production, or other product (see "Licenses" below).
What are the detail views? These are enlargements of small portions of the photo. They are intended to show you some of the details in the photo and to give you an idea of the image quality. They are not additional prints and they will not appear separately on your photo. The larger the photo you order, the more detail you will see.
Custom processing: If you request substitutions, we will custom make your item after we receive your payment, usually within 48 hours. This means that you can choose an alternative size, tone, finish, or CD (see below). We ship custom-made prints and CDs quickly, usually within 2 or 3 days. If you do not request substitutions, we ship your 5x7 print the next business day after we receive your payment. So, you must specify substitutions on the same day that you pay.
Size options: The bid and/or Buy It Now prices shown are for one standard 5-inch by 7-inch (5x7) print. However, you can substitute the optional 8x10 or a CD (see "CD option" below) at no additional charge. Be sure to request it when you pay. Or, to substitute an even larger size, you can purchase an additional item titled "Upsize your photo or art to..." (click "Upsize a photo or art" under "Store Categories" to the left) or ask us to add the cost to your invoice before you pay (see amount below).

Tone options: Your print will have a sepia tone as shown in the first picture unless you request grayscale or tinted. Sepia is the color of old photos today, caused by acid in the old paper. Many people prefer the warm sepia tones over cold black and white. Your sepia print will be on acid-free paper, but it will look old. Grayscale is the way modern black and white prints are made. The tinted version has been professionally colorized in a computer.

Finish options: Your print will have a luster finish unless you request glossy when you pay. Glossy reflects glare but appears to be a bit sharper. Glossy also shows fingerprints more.
Luster (dull, less glare): Default finish
16x20 and larger have a satin finish which is similar to luster.
Glossy (shiny, more glare, looks sharper): Request when you pay
Not available in 16x20 nor larger sizes.
Border: Your print will have a minimum border. This means that there may be some white edges (less than 1/4 inch wide) outside the image so that you can display the maximum amount of the image in a typical device that hides the edges of the print.
Quality: We select the highest-quality images we can find and carefully restore and improve them. Old photos do not meet today’s high standards due to the limitations of the materials and methods available in those days, and due to aging and damage. But we improve them as much as we can while preserving an old look. Then we process them using modern archival methods so they can be affordable and last for many years.
CD option: You can request to substitute a CD instead of a print. The CD will contain more than one version of the image, including at least one cropped close-up, that are optimized for digital presentations, websites, and e-mail. The images will not exceed 1200 pixels in the longest dimension, and thus may not fill the screen when used for high definition displays. If we have additional information about the image, we will include a text file as well. You must request the CD in eBay on the same day that you pay. The CD and images shall not be printed nor reproduced for sale nor distribution.
Packaging: We ship 5x7 and 8x10 prints and CDs flat with a stiff board to prevent folding, in a sturdy envelope. Larger sizes are carefully rolled and shipped in a sturdy mailing tube.
Shipping time: If you do not request substitutions, your sepia-tone luster 5x7 print will ship the next business day after we receive your payment. You must request substitutions in eBay on the same day that you pay, but your print or CD may then take a day or two longer to ship because it must be custom made. If you purchase additional eBay items from quaintcards to ship together, an extra day or two may also be required. The time required by the postal services to deliver your package depends on shipping method, Customs requirements, weather, holidays, and other factors beyond our control.
Shipping cost: This item is sold with packaging materials and handling included in the price. Domestic postage is also included. For destinations outside the U.S.A., buyer pays actual postage.
Discounts on additional purchases: Shipping and handling costs less per item when you buy more items that can ship together in the same package. We pass this savings on to buyers. We will subtract from your invoice before you pay, or refund in PayPal after you pay. Please note that some items can not be shipped together and thus will not qualify for this discount. For example, only small flat items can ship with 5x7s and CDs. Here is how much discount you will get:
