Arrived quickly & at a Competitive $$ - put in an OLD mac G5 Dual Core Tower to breath some life back into it - chose this as I do a lot of A/v work so the capacity & speed are fine for an OLD OS vs my newer mac w/ a 2 TB - 6months into use w/ no more "Audible Whirling" than any other drive I have -LaCie, WD & Segate Externals

I neeeded HDD to clone my desktop pc hdd and didn't want to spend a lot of money - my PC is almost 10 years old!! These fit the need nicely. One thing that took me a bit by surprise was the manufacturing date! These are not spring chicken (I think they were manufactured quite a bit ago). I hope the shelf time does not adversarily effect their performance nor longevity but that's remained to be seen. My original HDD lasted almost 10 years and I would be estatic if these lasted even half as much as that (I'm hopeing they will. . .)

For the money these are really good drives, I trust Western Digital for my hard drive needs and these drives are no slouch for a drive with 7200 RPM spindle speed, they have served me very well in a RAID 0 array, if you don't need huge storage space these are the ticket, very reliable drives.
The drives are very reliable and quiet and fast. I use them in my game machines for the grandkids with windows 7 pro. I have cloned the original to these drives and use them for the main drive keeping the original as a backup. So far they have been great with no problems. Love them.

After troubleshooting my computer after a crash, I concluded the hard drive was reponsible. After much research for the right product for my desktop, the WD Caviar Blue HD has enabled my computer to run like new again. It's quiet and response time is exceptional. I only hope that this WD product outlasts the last one that was installed.
