Western Digital 2 TB Audio Visual Hard Drive
I bought this drive to upgrade the storage in my 6-tuner TiVo Roamio DVR. This hard drive is specifically designed for use in audio/visual devices. This series of drives from Western Digital are the drives that TiVo installs in all of their retail DVRs. I have used these drives for many years in all of my AV equipment and they are very reliable. They are quiet, and they run at a cool temperature. I have one of them that has been running 24/7/365 for over 6 years! As with all hard drives, one of the "tricks" to ensuring the longevity of the drive is regular maintenance. I use SpinRite from Gibson Research. a program that I have been using for many years and one that I highly recommend. If you need a hard drive for use in any audio visual equipment, this series of drives from Western Digital is your best choice!Read full review

quiet, cool to the touch, large capacity at a good price.
good bandwidth, designed to run 24/7 in dvrs, no detectable rise in heat while running, no sound. I was on the fence about this 5400rpm or a 7200rpm WD cavier drive. both had approx. the same spec.s (7200 had better bandwidth) the 7200's consumer reviews had a high DOA and infant mortality failure return rate; so I got this. My only gripe with this is the Warranty went from 5 to 3 yrs. recently; but the spec's MTBF is listed as 1 Million hrs, as in 124 yrs. why the reduced Warranty?
