*** A NOTE FROM THE MAKER ***
A great Bird and Trout Knife for you guys that are lucky enough to have a lady in your life that will hunt and fish with you.
Have a Knife Day, Mark
All my knives are handmade by me in my shop using what is called the free hand stock removal method. This means that I grind my blades free hand without jigs or fixtures; they are not premade blade blanks. Everything is done freehand from cutting out the blades, hand grinding them, heat treating, fitting the handles to making the mosaic pins that I embellish the handles with. I don’t use any milling machines or lathes but hand make and fit all the components that go into every one of my knives.
I have been making knives since 1994 when R. D. Nolen walked into my Body Shop to have his Suburban repaired. Since that time it has been a hobby until 2004 when I went to making knives full time.
I am a proud member of the PKA (Professional Knifemakers Association) and was very honored in 2005 to receive the PKA’s “BEST NEW KNIFEMAKER for 2005” award. In 2006 I was honored to receive the PKA’s “BEST KITCHEN CUTLERY SET for 2006” award, and then again honored to have received the PKA’s “BEST ART/FANTASY KNIFE for 2007” award.

Mark, Received knife today, absolutely beautiful! Keep making them like this. coincom2
Mark, I’d like to again express my true admiration for the talent you have in knife making. As a long time collector of custom handmade knives I’ve seen and bought an expensive array of knives by well-known and well-published makers. I have knives from America, Mexico, Canada, Spain, Japan, Argentina, Scotland, England and South Africa. One of them has elaborate engravings and is set off by diamonds inset into the handle scale pins. But, with all that said, nowhere in this collection can I find anyone who has any higher quality in the overall fit, finish, feel, balance and flow of materials than I find in your knives. knifewife
