WONDERFUL VINTAGE CHARLES AND RAY EAMES COFFEE TABLE CTM - MFD BY HERMAN MILLER This lovely table was designed by Charles (1907-1978) and his wife, Ray (Bernice 1912-1988) Eames. Designed 1946, Manufactured by Herman Miller Furniture Company, Zeeland, Michigan, 1949-1957 It's called a "CTM"-Coffee Table Metal The Eames created the process and specialized in making furniture out of molded plywood. Round table top has large shallow depression in center and flat rim (resembles a dinner plate). Tublar legs are bent and soldered together to form an X shaped support for the table top; bolted to a wooden X that is glued to underside of tabletop. There's one just like this one on view at the Brooklyn Museum, BMA, 6H2, 1J Has a metallic label which says, "Charles Eames" and "Herman Miller".. Number 120 stamped in the wood on the bottom. Has two small dark spots on table top which you can see in pic; otherwise in great condition! 16" tall - 34" diameter Please contact me with any questions you may have.
