Have not used very much but was easy to use and did a great job. Old pallet wood came out smooth like new wood. every wood worker needs one of these

I needed a planer to do a small project in my living room. I saw this on EBAY and after looking at its features I thought this was going to foot the bill. It's not a top of the line planer, but it not a harbor freight one either. Cost wise, it's very affordable. I ordered it and it came within a few days. I took it to my house (in another state) and went to work. I got all my wood cut and was ready to plane. I took it out of the box and setup was absolutly no problem. This thing was ready to go in just a matter of minutes. I start working with it and it worked as advertised. The next weekend we started in again and the feed rooler stopped working and it sounded as if it was chewing up something inside. I broke it all down and it was clean, but in looking at the feed roller, it's frozen solid. I pulled it out and I found the bushing was frozen. I pressed it off and found it was destroyed inside. And the grinding sound, that's the gears eating themselves. SO, here is my problem, I'm on a time constraint and I'm over a barrel. I have no idea what the factory is going to do. I was able to use mine for less than ten hours and it died. I'll post again when I hear from the seller. Thank you for reading this. Read full review

Item came damaged. The lens for the depth measurement came shattered, and the top trim under the handle for depth adjustment came partially displaced. During its second use, one of the four allen head bolts on the bottom came out. It was laying on the table under the machine. Outfeed table was way off. Had to spend some time adjusting, which is kind of a pain. The dust chute is supposed to be able to flip either way, but when flipped to the left it doesn't seat properly. The lip of the chute hits the tower. Has plenty of power, and leaves a really good finish. It's heavy, which is not good when you want to move it around, but is overall beneficial because it's very stable. Overall, would buy it again but would like to be able to pick up the part from a store. I believe having the item shipped to my house caused the damage. Read full review

Overall good machine, you HAVE to connect it to a vacuum system to keep chips from building up and causing the rollers to slip. Also wish I could find carbide knives for it. The HSS blades that come with it don't last very long if your running any amount of boards through it.

I would recommend this planer for anyone who is going to plane wood for a good finish. It is easy to change the blades, and the blades that were sent with the planer were good blades. The price was also very good, and the unit came with very little setup required. Within 10 minutes of opening the box, I was using it. I am using it to plane 3 1/2" to 12" old growth pine that was harvested in 1945 which is extremely hard for pine with hard knots, and it is doing the job remarkably well. I bought a separate set of blades from WEN for $25.00, and they are identical to the ones that came with the unit. I will sharpen my own blades, so those blades will probably plane all of the wood I need to plane, and then I will have a planer for much smaller jobs. PS: The blades are reversible, so one set of two blades is the same as getting two sets of blades. PPS: Definitely for the price and the overall ease of use of this unit, I would recommend it to anyone.Read full review
