This is a vintage out of production limited run Walthers The Great Circus Train Heavy Weight 1920s Style Passenger Car Diner with six wheel trucks.
Janesville, Wisconsin was the site of the first Wisconsin State Fair in 1851. In 1985 the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin ran the Circus Train to the Great Circus Parade in Milwaukee. The route was from Baraboo to Janesville, for an overnight stay, then to Milwaukee via Des Plaines, Illinois, using Chicago & Northwestern Railroad rail. Condition:
This model is in excellent used condition. It is a Rivarossi model imported for Walthers and their Great Circus Train series.
I see no broken, missing, or damaged parts. All brake wheels, steps, couplers, truck, and wheels are present.
Text says "Schlitz Circus Parade - - America's Most Exciting Event" and "Wonderful Wisconsin Holiday Country The Year Around".
The brochure is missing. The original, colorful box is in excellent condition. The model is wrapped in tissue. I will turn the couplers in toward the center of the car to protect them and add packing peanuts to keep the car from moving. Comment:
This would make a nice addition to your The Great Circus Train collection or layout. We keep our models in an above-ground, conditioned, smoke-free, and pet-free room. Vintage models may have been stored anywhere before I acquired them. This model is out of production and no longer available from the maker. All that ever will be of this model are in the hands of dealers as old stock or in the hands of collectors. It becomes more and more difficult to find these models as time goes on. Be sure to get one while you still can, if you want one, or even think you will want one.For ages 12 and up. Do You Like This?
