VINTAGE MEXICAN SALTILLO SERAPE

This is an extremely cool vintage Mexican wool Saltillo serape.  It belonged to my husband's parents who spent a great deal of time in mexico during the 1940's, so I'm assuming that the serape was acquired by them at that time. 

The serape measures 16"x 38", excluding the fringe, which is the perfect size for a table runner or wall hanging!  The colors are 'muted', and absolutely beautiful.  The fringe is intact on one side, and two fringes are missing on the other end.  When the serape is held up in the light, you can see that there are some small areas where the wool blanket has worn 'thin', but there are no holes.  When the blanket is placed on a surface, the 'thin' spots are not visible or noticeable.
