Vtg 1950s 50s Detailed Dress Pattern- McCall's 8977- Bust 34 Size 16

Up for auction is this great original vintage McCall's dress pattern from 1952.  Super flattering with the cute bodice details!

Vintage sizing is different than modern sizing, go by measurements below, given in inches, instead of size number.

Waist 28

Hip 37

Pattern: Fair to good vintage condition.  Cut with pinking shears.  Cut for short length sleeves but the extra length is still included in the envelope if you wish to make the long sleeve version.

Envelope:  Fair condition. Someone sketched design ideas on the front cover (which I actually think is charming rather than a flaw).  On the back cover there are scattered ink spots (see photo 3).  Otherwise normal vintage wear including some yellowing, tears, and bumps from years of storage.

Vintage sewing patterns will have age wear and use that are common with antique paper, including the "old paper" smell, which most vintage folks love! Vintage sewing patterns do not handle as modern patterns as they are quite old and in most cases were previously used. If you are worried about damaging your pattern you may choose to trace it off prior to use on different paper. Most pre-1950s patterns were made of unprinted tissue with perforations (or holes) for markings. Vintage patterns had different sizing than patterns of today. Bust, waist, and hip measurements are given in inches. Please go by your corresponding measurements instead of the pattern size number.

Express and Priority are the fastest shipping methods.  First Class is the slowest shipping method offered, and can take up to a month to reach destinations outside the USA.

While I do my best to give accurate shipping quotes, in the event that shipping was underestimated, especially combined shipping for several items, I will message you and let you know any additional amount owed.

If you are an international customer, please be aware that items may be held at your post office in order to collect any necessary customs duty.  Occasionally customers have informed me that the post office does not notify them that packages are being held.  If it has been over three weeks since the item has been marked shipped and it has not yet arrived, and you have received no notice of it being held at your local post office, please send me a message so we can try to figure out more about the package.  You will most likely have to go to your post office and inquire about the package as well, and I will be able to supply the customs form number to aid you. 

Transit Times, Tracking, Etc:
Holidays, weather, misrouted packages, and other unforeseen things may occur once the package is in the hands of the shipping agent which may delay the arrival. Paypal should forward you a tracking number through email on all orders within the USA, and if it doesn't you can find the number in your Paypal transaction record on the Paypal site. International buyers please be aware that priority mail and first class mail have no tracking option so Express would be required.
