DescriptionYou are looking at a vintage Technics SL1400 Stereo Turntable. This beauty is excellent cosmetically and sonically. We not know the exact condition of the stylus, but it does play and sound good. Cosmetically, it is one of the cleaner ones we have had. Note the top plastic cover has various small scuffs as shown in the photos. It could use a cleaning and detailing as it has sat for years. It includes the Stanton 680EE cartridge as shown in the photos.
The name Technics was introduced as a brand name for premium loudspeakers marketed domestically by Matsushita in 1965. The name came to widespread fame with the international sales of direct-drive turntables. In 1969, they introduced the SP-10, the first direct-drive model for the professional market, and in 1971 the SL-1100 for the consumer market. The SL-1100 was used by the influential DJ Kool Herc for the first sound system he set up after emigrating from Jamaica to New York
When this turntable came out, it was considered a great turntable and had just about every feature you could ever want. Today, audiophiles across the globe covet vintage turntables due to high performance, build quality and features. This unit has a small amount of minor marks and scratches from use and age as shown in the photos. It will be packed well to ensure safe delivery.
