For 7 DAY auction at NO RESERVE - Investment Quality, circa 1940s,rare Oversize LIFETIME “Clipless 1000” fountain pen from SHEAFFER'S, in excellent, near Mint, condition with a rare BROAD-STUB Lifetime Nib! Side lever fill system has been recently restored with a new ink sac, and this pen is ready for your favorite ink! This large, fat pen measures 5” (128mm) capped, an oversize “clipless” pen, but not the largest model Sheaffer made if you include pocket clip pens. Outstanding Pearlescent “Tiger’s Eye” Gold & Black striped plastic case has excellent color flashes! A very collectible pen! No chips, cracks, bite marks, monograms or personalization! Few surface imperfections/use marks can be found even on close inspection, surface area is clean, very glossy! Barrel is impressed: WA SHEAFFER PEN CO. - FORT MADISON, IOWA, USA – PATENTED IN USA - 1000. Nice, smooth writing nib is 14K solid gold, and engraved: SHEAFFER'S – LIFETIME – REG US PAT OFF - MADE IN USA. Excellent nib is solid 14K gold, Firm tines, wide BROAD-STUB tip with tines aligned and good tipping material. Pen's fill system has been recently restored and this pen is in excellent working condition! Side lever fill system has a recently replaced ink sac, and has been flushed and tested for leaks.
