Vintage RUSHTON 21'' BUNNY RABBIT STUFFED RUBBER FACE DOLL with Tush Tag CUTE!
QUICK NOTE: I have been inundated with requests for a Buy-It-Now price but that takes all the fun out of an auction. Please, if you're interested, BID. Only you know how much you're willing to pay. If it's more than other bidders, you win! Cool how that works.
This amazing free-standing Rushton bunny doll comes straight from a recent estate sale and simply could not be more adorable! The description below is my very best effort to correctly and honestly describe this item. Please look at the photos for a visual addition to the description. Of course, I encourage you to ask question if I've missed something.
Measurements: 21" tall from base of feet to tip of ears, 12" wide foot to foot, and 10" from front to back.
It is in really good condition. There are no tears, obvious stains (maybe light stain on bottom of foot), no bad odors (NO SMOKE OR MILDEW ODORS!), no holes. Yes, the fur is a little dingy but some light surface cleaning should spiff it up. The photos tend to "clean up" the dinginess so it's not really as white as it looks in some of the photos. Please look at ALL of the photos. The last head shot shows what you can expect when I say 'dingy'. It's not terrible but it really should be cleaned.
The rubber face is in very, very good condition. There are no scratches, paint loss, stains, dents, or other flaws that I can see except for one little black "freckle" size spot. I haven't tried removing it.
His body is entirely white fake fur, the insides of the ears are the same material in pink. The fur is not matted but could probably use a light brushing. The ears are stiff and are not bendable. Joints are fixed.
The head tends to lean to one side and is just a bit flexible side-to-side. Maybe that's how he's always been. I don't know.
He is wearing a green felt vest with button, and a green beret with an orange carrot hanging from the top of it. He has a bright orange ribbon tied around his neck. It has faded in some spots. I've re-tied it because it was loose when I got him.
His seam tag is intact and in very good condition. It reads "ALL NEW MATERIALS / CONTENTS: COTTON OR RUBBER / The Rushton Company, Atlanta, Ga." There is no date on the tag but my guess is 1950-ish. It is possible that it was made in the very early 1960's but I don't think so. I bought this based on the cuteness factor. I am not an expert in any way, shape, or form regarding Rushton dolls.
There are no other tags or identifying marks on the doll.
Important note: This doll is NOT INTEND to be used as a child's toy. This is a vintage collectible doll and should be treated with care. Please do not purchase it with the intend of giving it to a child.
You pay for shipping, I pay for the insurance. This doll will be securely packaged in a sturdy box and sent by Priority Mail. Sorry, no International shipping on this item.
Shipping from Alaska to the Lower 48 States takes longer. Please see below for shipping times.
