Vintage Palmer Es-335 Copy. This is a very nice peice with serious potential for anyone willing to put in the time to bring it up to speed. First and foremost, it suffered a break in the neck. When I received it it had been initially repaired, and not very well. Despite this, the guitar played fine, albeit with some string buzzing on the lower frets near the break...but the tone was exceptionally good. I took it to one of the, if not the top Gibson authorized repair persons in town for work. I had him re-do the repair. This neck is now very solid and will never break there...very strong. The back of the neck were the break occured is now very smooth to the touch..you can barely notice it. According to the luthier, the guitar simply needs some final tweaking. There is a bow in the neck, but he is sure this can be worked out with the fully-functioning truss this guitar has, and he says some fret filing should also bring it back to its former glory. There is some discoloration where the break occured, so if cosmetics matter, this could also be addressed. So, this is a pretty easy project. Once again, the guitar does play as is..I have even used it on a gig, but somene needs to cross the finish line with this one. I am out of money and a new baby is on the way, the tax man wants his cut and...well, life. I will be selling several wonderful guitars in the coming weeks.

Vintage: This is most likely at least 20 years old, possibly of Japanese or Korean origin. Build Quality- Very good, and note the old school "Mickey Mouse" ears, ala a '59 Es-335. Cosmetics- the aforementioned neck repair. The usual scuffs that go with a guitar that has been played for a period of time (see photos), and a mottled section just below the one knob (bridge tone) It has aged nicely and has that aged patina that can't be faked. The binding has aged nicely, with no chipping like on a Gretsch. This is a real relic, not a fake job. Original Parts- Everything is original/stock, with the exception of the adjustable bridge which is gold colored....pickups, electronics, tuners ...everything is stock and works fine. Playability/Tone- The neck on this is, in my opinion, quite fast. This is no boatneck..I would say something akin to a Gibson 60's profile. The tone of this guitar is substantial- It will blow away any newer Epiphone Dot or similar model, because the wood has aged naturally. It has a nice warm tone and when you add some overdrive, wow, this will suckerpunch most Les Pauls.Frets- Note the earlier mention of some fret filing near the break area, but overall pretty good. Nowhere near a fret job. Some additional polishing and levelling would only add to the tone. Bottom-line: this is a very well built ES-335 replica of indeterminate age that offers great potential to someone with a little time and money to invest. NOTE: You are purchasing a vintage instrument, not a new showpiece from Guitar Center. I have done my best to list it accurately. As such, this is listed as a project and is sold as is with no returns. If you seek some reassurance, see my feedback. This guitar will play when it arrives, but it will need new strings, some additional work (as mentioned), and a good setup to bring it to its full potential. NOTE: This will ship in a heavy duty gig bag for additional protection.

Shipping to the lower US will be a flat fee of $50. If it comes in less than this, you will be refunded the difference. If it is more, it will come out of my pocket. At worst, you pay the full $50.
