This auction is for a Vintage 1950's Firestone Cruiser built by Monark in Chicago. This bicycle has at least one extra coat of black pain ton the frame, fenders, fork, and other small parts that were oversprayed (with brush?). Not sure of the original color, although there is some white showing up near the headtube and along the sides of the fenders. Also what appears to be some light blue writing on the seattube. The black repaint was done fairly recently as the seat clamp bolt has been replaced with an SAE allen bolt and painted over.
The chainguard, stem, and handlebars have a coat of primer on them - fairly easy to take off but can't be positive how much chrome is left underneath. There are dents and dings on the fenders along with multiple scratches. Also, the frame and fork have several scratches. The repaint is definitely amateur. Very amateur.
The rims have also been repainted a white color. The spoke nipples are also white.
The Cruiser isn't rideable yet, but with a decent tune-up it would make a fun daily rider. With a bunch of tlc, tons of steel wool, and some paint, it would make a great project! Go for the daily rider.
Rear fender does have the original reflector plate, now painted in black and aluminum.
Includes License plate from Reedsburg, WI, 1979.
Seat Tube - 18"
Top Tube - 22"
Stand-over Height - 29"
Seatpost - painted black but it moves
Saddle - home-repair job - the seat pan is actually plywood.
Stem - primered steel stem, chromed underneath
Handlebars - 22" wide cruiser bar with red grips, seems to have a coat of primer or something on it. The chrome shines underneath if you use enough steel wool
Crankset - single piece steel crankset with Monark design chainring
Pedals - Newer (Wald?) block style pedals, worn, but usable
hubs - New Departure Model D rear coaster brake hub and an unmarked front hub, decent chrome underneath all the grime.
rims - 26" balloon tire rims, painted white with a brush
1/2" chain is in ok shape, spins but is rusted - will need a long oil bath to make it pretty again
Tires - are not rideable, will need to be replaced.

We offer two different shipping services for our bicycles; economy and standard.
Economy: With this service all bicycles will be professionally boxed using approved packaging materials (including but not limited to bubble wrap, foam, paper, plastic spacers, cardboard tubes). The shipping cost reflects box sizes that do not meet the minimum shipping specifications for either UPS or FedEx. This option does not include an insurance guarantee or provide protection under eBay buyer protection as the box does not meet minimum specifications for shipping by UPS or FedEx. The minimum specification for shipping a box requires 3" of packing material around the bike itself. This size would make the box too large to ship UPS, FedEx.
We do not purchase bicycles outright, we do however take trade-ins toward the purchase of a new or used bicycle at any of our retail locations, all assessments and evaluations must be handled on site.
We only do bicycle assessments and evaluations through our retail locations, fees vary depending on the depth of assessment necessary.
This bicycle is available for local pick-up at no cost (WI sales tax apply to all in state purchases, local pick-up or shipped).
International buyers are responsible for all duties and fees. We will not falsify customs information; if you request such it will be reported to Ebay.
All bikes are professionally boxed and will be partially broken down to fit size requirements for shipping, some assembly and tuning may be required upon receiving.
