The Jet Girl Wos rldwide Gallery

presents this old school cloth Lufthansa German Airlines place mat.  It was used onboard the airline's Constellations or fan jets at the dawn of the jet age.  It is cloth with fringe edges and depicts a royal feast of a European monarchy during the Renaissance era 1510-1550.  The mat measures a solid 17 X 22 inches.  There are a couple of faint spots on it that are negligible. The iconic Lufthansa crane against a sun/ moon logo by Otto Firle is prominent throughout the mat and appears in vintage blue around the trim and in grey above the silkscreen (?) scene.  It was made in Japan.  The artist was KM Hassler who illustrated Lufthansa inflight collateral such as napkins, place mats, and menus.  Hassler's signature appears in the work (photo enclosed).  Please feel free to email any questions about this item.
