Vintage LIMOGES CASTEL KAROL CHINA KAROLYTE 22 KT GOLD 3 Tiered Serving Tray

A lot of two vintage porcelain items, a pristine Limoges Castel ceramic jewelry box and an outstanding 3 tiered serving tray from Karol China.

We are pleased to present this lot of fine ceramic ware.

Included in the lot is a trinket box from Limoges Castel of France. The box sports gold-tone trim around the lid and jar. The lid is decorated with an ornate transferware image of an 18th century courting couple in a French countryside.

The second item is a brilliant 3 tiered serving tray from Karol China. The handles are expertly crafted with 22 karat gold plating, as well as the dishes, which sport a gold leaf pattern and trim.

The Castel box is 3 1/2 inches in diameter, while the 3 tiered tray is 13 inches tall, but can be broken down for easy storage and cleaning. The bottom tray is 10 inches in diameter, while the second and third trays measure with diameters of 7 1/4 and 5 1/4 inches, respectively. Together, the lot weighs 2 1/2 pounds.

The Castel box was purchased new and never seems to have been used. It has no cracks, chips, or crazing, and its inside is smooth and white. The decorations that adorn the outside of the box are bold and vibrant.

The 3 tiered serving tray is in remarkable shape as well and seems to have been well cared for. The floral patterns done in gold as well as the gold trim have no imperfections that we can find. The only flaw we can find on this tray is a hairline crack at the bottom of the large dish. This does not affect the integrity of the piece, however.

For people looking to expand their porcelain collections, this lot is a great buy!
