My little short scale piccolo bass with Teisco neck. I don't remember where the body came from, I think Trump.
* Tuned BEAD, B is B below GUITAR low E, then EAD, low guitar strings, not bass BEAD. I use it to play baritone range harmony to a regular bass in our group. You could change the strings to standard electric bass strings, or as some piccolo bass players prefer, one octave above standard tuning, (EADG guitar).
* NEW strings.
* I added spacer to raise Teisco bass neck for better match to body.
* Truss rod works fine.
* New black tuners.
* Plays well, small and light.
* Zero fret wear.
* 1 9/16 inch nut.
* 23 3/4 inch scale.
I inspected everything on this short bass, played it, and several real bass players played it.
I can remove the neck for shipping overseas, but this small bass will ship fine.
OVERSEAS: Ask for quote. I pack well, and will try to find you the best rate. No handling charges.
Plays well, includes Gibson gig bag. I pack securely.
I re-did this little bass, and I modify and make other assorted musical instruments, mostly cigar box guitars, and mandolins. I greatly enjoy making and playing them for myself and others. I take them to local jams and "test fly" them. Only when they bring a smile to the player do I offer them for sale. I would like to keep them all, but these sales helps us enjoy more music. I am always thinking about something new.
My "LO-TECH" approach keeps the costs down, and the enjoyment up. Fit and finish is usually NOT perfect, as these are mostly vintage and setup is my preference. Plenty of adjustment to raise or lower action. Please don't buy if you can't forgive the dings and scratches. I try to always come up with something different, and always playable.
I make these because I love to, and I play them also. I had a real bass player check it out. I try to keep prices down. I don't use wood fillers, or strive for a perfect look, and checked everything. I've played perfect instruments costing many times mine do, and they aren't any more fun than mine.
If you are able to, you can use alternate tunings and different gauge strings to add to you musical enjoyment and exploration.
My instruments seem to find their way to musical homes, and folks like them. Please don't bid if you expect perfect fit and finish. I make them STRONG, and always playable. I always have several players that are a LOT better than me "QC" my instruments.
Please ask questions.
We sell our instruments locally, and at jams, so I may remove it at any time.
I treat everyone with respect and kindness. Please don't bid unless you intend to complete the transaction. Zero bidders don't bid unless you contact me first. Sorry for that, but I have had zero bidders disappear. ALWAYS ask questions. I welcome comments, and suggestions.
Ask for overseas shipping costs if the calculator doesn't work for your home. I will always try to ship for the least yet safest amount. If you send me too much, I will refund the difference. No extra charges or handling fees.
Peace to you, Thank you for your consideration.
