Description

You are looking at a vintage Harman Kardon T60 T-60 Stereo Turntable Stereo Record w/ Stanton 680 EES cartridge. This is a floating suspension auto-lift turntable with an ITO Microrace low mass tonearm.

This beauty is excellent cosmetically, but will need a new belt from age sonically. We not know the exact condition of the stylus, but it does play and sounds great. Cosmetically, it is one of the cleaner ones we have had. Note the top plastic cover has various small scuffs as shown in the photos. It could use a cleaning and detailing as it has sat for years. It includes the Stanton 680EES cartridge and other accessories including the original manual as shown in the photos.

In the Harman Kardon T60, a quartz-lock motor, sensitive to absolute speed rather than rotational deviation, utilizes a quartz tuning element to "sense" 45 and 33rpm to automatically maintain constant speed. No fine tuning is ever necessary, but if you want to adjust speed manually, you can. The platter is more massive still than that of the T40 - with the disc stabilizer for tracking accuracy and high density rubber platter mat for vibration damping. An optically sensed auto-lift tonearm is incorporated, eliminating the return mechanism entirely. This minimizes unwanted tonearm and cartridge vibration. At the tonearm base is a high mass, die-cast aluminium support structure which houses the minimum-friction microrace bearings. A sophisticated and unique 3-point floating suspension system is employed in the T60. It is precisely counterbalanced with a weight opposite the tonearm assembly to center the moving mass at the platter spindle.Gold connector plugs at each end of a detachable ultra-low capacitance cable, for better conductance are standard.

Features include:

  • Belt drive, quartz-locked motor with pitch control
  • 3.3 lb. platter
  • Counterweighted 3-point floating suspension
  • Optically sensed auto-lift tonearm
  • Low mass, low friction, straight tonearm with high mass pivot isolation
  • Acoustically absorbent platter mat
  • Disc stabilizer
  • Ultra low capacitance detachable gold tipped phono cables
  • Carbon fiber headshell
  • Phono capacitance trim control
  • Vibration absorbent wood base
