For Sale is an old soda fountain setup from a Pharmacy called "goodnow''s" that was located in Rockland Maine. It opened in the 1930's and closed in 2010/11. I purchased this off someone who had removed it from the building where it was operating unil the store closed.  I did some reserach online and found a news article and two pictures with one of the outside of the building and one of the inside showing part of the actual  soda fountain in the picture. It talks about the fountain and also that actor John Travolta had ice cream at the fountain and so did artist Edward Harrison. I have the article and can email it to any interested buyers. I am not an expert but can try to answer any questions you have. Also I have more pictures but can only put 12 online.  These are pictures of it loosly set up before I put into storage in my garage where it is disassembled.  When put together fully and secured it will all fit together properly unlike in the pictures.

Overall the peices is in good condition for being around 80 years old. Also the color combination is neat. The set consists of five stools, the bar with counter, fountain, ice cream storage, back section that mounts to the wall, The lighting box that hangs above the back bar, and also a compressor that is is not in the pictures but I can forward a pic of it. The ice cream storage is Frigidaire made by GM. The fountain is United American from Boston USA.

The approx dim of the bar are as follows. the counter top of the bar is approx 13' 2" long and approx 44" deep. The height from floor to top of bar counter is approx 42 1/2"

The light box that mouts to the wall unit is approx 14 1/2 "  deep 6" high and 16' 3" Long.

The wall section in the back that mounts to the wall is approx 53" high with 6" of that being for  mounting the lightbox. so that would be approx 47" that you would see. The length is approx 16' 3" long

I think that below the back bar wall peice there may have been cabinets below the wall peice but they did not come with the fountin. There is a small counter that mounts below the wall peice. This can be seen sitting on the main counter in the 5th and 6th pictures posted. Due to the length of it the connection in the center came apart and the metal from trim got bent but this trim part can be unbent. Pictures are available. It you do not wish a counter then then back peice does not need to be used.

There is an outlet opening on the back ball wall hanging and on the ice cream storage area. the are five rows with double doors for the storage. The fountain cools by works by refridgeration lines sitting in water cooling the storage area. There is no co2 pump with the bar. The one compressor with the unit is either for one of or maybe both of the systems. it was a remote compressor so I am not sure which one or it both it goes two. I was told it worked but I have not used it as I not sure how to hook it up. I have what i was told were the orignial foutain taps that came with it and they look deco. They were replaced with more modern ones. which you can see in the picture. I can provide pics of them if requested. Also I have but just need to locate the grill that goes at he base of the white ice cream storage unit.

The plastic piping below the sink needs to be be replaced as can be seen in the pics. The counter print is worn from the many customers and one small part onthe lip is lifting and can be seen in the picture taped.  Overall it is in good condition. There are dings to it. The main one i see in where the stools goes on the center green section it is a round scuff mark. Other small dings and scratches throughout peice but as seen in pictures good condition. Also on the back there are some dings and lighter areas where posters where on it and is did not get faded due to the sun.

The bar stools have some rust and and need polishing. They need to have seat covers replaced as they are worn. They can be rechromed which I had done once to a set just like this. I can include a picture for a reference. Also one seat cracked at the metal side/edge. This can just be welded or you can get a replacement as this seat is common for that time. They sell on ebay and there is one for sale now for 24.99 if you type in "soda fountain stool" and search. Also some trim is dinged up as can be seen and the white base linolium has some chips on thes edge. Overall this is an old but good condition bar with a neat history to it.  The front wood to the light bar could use a refinishing but that is up to you  so please refer to pictures. Also the white pumps in the fountain have close up pics available if you want to see.

I would like to add though if you would like this can be updated.  I researched this and have a a vendor online ( that sells the edging that can be used on this. They sell the edging for the base and also the trim for the most all of the item as it is a standard size evento this day. Also if you wanted to change the color scheme the panels for all of the unit you could actually buy replacement reproduction formica panels in many colors and styles and cut them to fit and slide them into the trim. Anyways I was goning to make a game room but due to enconomy I cannot so I will sell it for someone else to have and enjoy.

I put no shipping but if winner wants to have it picked up via their own trucking company then email me before bidding. The panels all come off but the ice cream and fountain sections are heavy and need to ne moved on dollys.  If you have any questions please ask as I do not want and misinformed buyers. PLease do not assume anything and ask if questions. This is a large item and a big truck is needed to move it especially the back bar wall peice. I will take pictures of what is needed also. Also if you are local please let me know and I can arrange to have you look at the item before bidding as I like to make sure people are happy and know all before they bid. There are no warranties on this item and no shipping outside the USA.

I am not sure what this is worth so I have a buy it now with offers accepted so let me know what you think it is worth. Thanks!
