This Auction is for a vintage Akai Cross Field Super Deluxe X-1800SD Multipurpose Tape Recorder with 4 track stereo/mono reel to reel, 8 track stereo cartridge, and transfer from reel to cartridge. An owner's manual is included.

Condition: The recorder lights up when plugged in, and its reverse and forward buttons do what they're expected to do. There are no obvious signs of physical damage other than some wear on the wood body. The Akai unit appears to be in good condition. However, we have not tested it with tapes and do not know if every feature works as intended. We are therefore selling this item for parts or repairs because we cannot make a guarantee of full functionality. Please consult photos for more details. In accordance with our camera/electronic return policy, this is an As-Is sale. The policy is stated below:

Camera/Electronic Return Policy: All of our cameras, lenses, and camera accessories or electronics are sold as-is. We provide as much information as possible and we are happy to answer any questions, but we are Goodwill and we cannot test all of our donated items. They may or may not work, and to be on the safe side we sell them for parts or repairs.

Size: The Akai unit is approximately 16.5" x 13.5" x 10.5".

Please see or other auctions; we are happy to combine shipping charges but will only do so for auctions ending within three days of each other because we do have a four day payment policy.


Items are generally shipped within two business days after payment is received. Items are sent USPS Priority Mail or UPS ground.
