I am reluctantly selling my classic Sony ES CD player, model no. CDP-620ES. $1,000.00 when new!! Famous for novel and highly effective circuits, to convert the digital data stream from the CD into an analog audio signal. Single bank-switched DAC (Sony 20152) and single digital filter (CX23034). Very robust transport with machined aluminum tray and linear motor for the pickup. Magnetic linear rails and super-fast movements. Healthy power supply (not undersized like all the cheap players) and excellent analog section. Copper-plated chassis, copper buss bars, abundant heat-sinking and regulators - this player is full of them: black ones, copper ones, without sinks; all kinds of regulators. Proper regulation is the whole differentiation between mediocre stereos and the high end ones. LC-OFC wiring, GIC low-pass filter, Nichicon muse, premium audio grade ELNA's for audio caps and a very solid and long lasting overall assembly. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the best players ever made... amazing quality and specs. There is so much copper in this unit, with copper at >$4.00/lb., it is probably worth over $100.00 in scrap value alone! ! Not that you would want to do such a thing... The CD player has some scratches on the top case but it is very good condition. The plate will be engaged to protect the optical parts during transportation so please be sure to slide it before usage, as indicated on the bottom label (see pics below). There is no remote.
