|Vintage Paul Detlefsen Art Print: "Spring Morn"|
LARGE: 4 FT x 2FT; Textured Paper; Ready for a Frame!
|This is one 1966 print from Donald Art Co. Inc., N.Y. (No. 4777) of Paul Detlefsen's "Spring Morn" painting. This beautiful print features a red barn and silo at the edge of a pond or lake, with a realistic white horse taking a drink. There are red, pink, and white flowered trees and a fence, wind skimming the water, tall majestic trees, and the contrast between the sown farm land and the wild grass and flowers in a meadow.|
This is a highly sought-after print; I have found numerous "wanted" ads online looking for this "Spring Morn" printed piece, and no instances of it currently for sale anywhere online!

The print is 48" (4 ft) wide x 24" (2 ft) tall. On the bottom left in very small print you can make out "Inc. NY No 4777." This is the latter half of what read "© Donald Art Co. Inc. N.Y. No. 4777" (you can see from my other Paul Detlefsen print what it looked like, however on this piece the lower left hand corner ink is too dark of a color to read the first part of it). The middle has "Spring Morn by Paul Detlefsen" in script.
Paul Detlefsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1899. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and moved to Hollywood where he succeeded as an animator (he was nominated for an Academy Award for work on the 1944 film The Adventures of Mark Twain), worked for 20 years at the Warner Brothers studio, and later shifted to artwork. In the late 1960s, it was estimated that 80% of all Americans had seen his work. He painted all the way up until the last few months of his life, in 1986.
Donald Art Co. Inc. was located in Port Chester, New York, and used to publish posters, lithographs, and artist prints, frequently including scenes from American history. They are no longer in business or producing this piece.
This print is still in overall good to very good condition. I found no fading, rips, or other damage.
Don't wait...Bid! I only have 1 of this item, and another one may not come up for sale for a long time!
