Manufactured in 1966 at the Fullerton California Plant, USA (Fender- CBS ERA)

 

About the Fullerton Factory

The Fullerton factory opened in 1946, Fullerton California with the first major electric solid body guitar production began in 1950 with the Broadcaster (later known as the Telecaster). Sold in 1965 to CBS who in 1985 sold Fender to a group of private investors the plant was not included in that sale and was subsequently closed.

 

Verified to be authentic by the good people at Fender USA, this vintage guitar puts out some great sounds, but needs some TLC.

 

The good:

  • Everything works!
  • The volume knob makes a bit of noise when turned, but works well.
  • No problem with the tone knob
  • 3 way toggle switch works as intended
  • Features Schaller tuners

 

The bad:

  • Headstock has a crack
  • Slight damage around the nut
  • Pick guard has damage around the cable input
  • Pickups set up has been modified, as you can see in the pictures
  • Paint finish has chipped which gives it that well traveled appearance
  • Vintage hard shell case has some bad latches but keeps the guitar well protected.
