Vintage 1950s KUNDO Majestic Lucite Brass Mantel Clock Electromagnetic ATO RARE

This is a beautiful KUNDO Glass Pannelled Electromagnetic Mantel Clock from the 1950s. This clock operates using an ATO Pendulum Motor. This type of clock drive was developed in France by Leon Hatot circa 1919. This clock has 6 Jewels.

This stunning clock has a brushed aluminum tone dial with art deco brass numbers. Viewed from the front, the clock mechanism and clock face appear to float as the pendulum gently swings from side to side. The clock mechanism is attached to a crystal clear 1/4" thick lucite plate.

This clock does not have the original battery box. The battery box has been replaced. We have tested this clock and allowed it to run for approximately one week. This clock is very accurate and was approximately 1 minute fast (as measured by our computer clock) after running for one week. We have not adjusted the pendulum speed for this clock. This clock requires 4 AA batteries to operate(not included). 

This clock was made in West Germany by Kieninger and Obergfell. There are three glass panels and one brass panel on the clock cover. The front glass panel has beveled edges. The side glass panels do not have beveled edges. The rear panel of the cover is brass with a frosted inner surface with an etched diamond pattern. There are some scratches to the inner surface of the brass panel. There are no cracks or chips to any of the glass Panels. There is some minor tarnish on some of the brass.

The overall height of this clock is 9 1/2". The brass base measures7 1/2" Wide by 5" Deep. The glass panelled cover measures 6 3/4" Wide by 4" deep. The clock face measures 4 1/2" in Diameter.
