Vintage 1930 Columbus Model M (Peanut) or MG (Gumball) Vending Machine

DESCRIPTION: This is a circa 1930 Columbus Model M (Peanut) or MG (Gumball) Vending Machine in all original condition, except for the locks. Mostly cast iron construction. Base and lid are a light green porcelain. The paint around the coin drop- lever section has been stripped off long ago… ready for a new coat. Inside is clean. It is missing its two barrel locks. I replaced them with the locks you see, which are the ones you will receive. It is also missing the gasket for the globe. Lid ring is stamped with the number "12" and "Pat'D 1932". Mechanism works great.

SIZE: Measures 14-½” tall.

CONDITION: Original Globe has about a 1” scratch (1st Photo; ref Columbus Mark on Globe- 1 o'clock position), and a few light surface scratches. Has a small stone embedded in the glass from manufacturing. There are some small chips along the bottom edge. Missing gasket for globe to sit on. Original porcelain (enamel) paint is mostly all present. Has some fine scratches in it and is slightly dull; could use a good polishing and buffing. See above description and photos.

NOTES: I am not exactly sure what this machine originally vended. The globe never had a decal, and although there is a little “rusting” inside the chute, there is not the normal pitting you see with peanut vendors. I’ve always had the machine filled with gumballs for the kids. Being cast iron it’s pretty indestructible. With a little restoration, this machine will be an eye popper. Gumballs not included. This machine is very heavy- close to 20 pounds unpacked! I plan on boxing the globe separate from the cast iron components, and shipping everything in one box. Prior to paying let me know if you would prefer the globe to be shipped in a separate box… it will add to the price of shipping. Thank you.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

GENERAL TERMS:

1. Qualifying Bidders: In general, everyone is welcomed to bid on my item listings. However, if you have under 10 positive feedback, your feedback rating is less than 100%, or you have any unpaid buyer’s strikes against you, you must receive prior permission from me before bidding on any of my item listings. I reserve the right not to sell to any bidder who is in default of this condition. As much as I would like to welcome new members, I have been burned too many times. As such, unless I have personally dealt with you in the past, I will not permit members with zero feedback to bid on any of my items- absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS!
2. Accessibility: If access to this item listing is impeded in any way during the last 2 hours of the auction, regardless of the length of time involved, I reserve the right not to sell this listing to the winning bidder.
3. Winning Bidder(s): Within 24 hours following the end of the auction, the successful winning bidder should email me their complete shipping address information, including name, mailing address, and any instructions (mailing options, including request for insurance coverage and/or delivery confirmation). Throughout these terms, “winning bidder” and “buyer“ are used interchangeably.

SHIPPING TERMS:

1. Destinations: Unless stated otherwise, in my item description, I only ship to destinations within the continental United States. Buyers must live in Countries where I agree to ship. Items are to be shipped to buyers directly, no third party involvement- no exceptions!
2. Optional Services: Although all items are packed carefully, I cannot guarantee the safety of the package once it leaves my possession! As such, I highly recommend the purchase of insurance coverage and/or delivery confirmation. It is up to the buyer to request and pay for these services; buyers will only be charged the actual cost of these options.
3. Shipping & Handling Charges: Buyers will be charged postage, plus the cost of packing materials used to ship items, plus a small fee for handling. Please rest assure that my main concern is getting the item to you safely, not to make money. If you have any questions regarding these charges, please email me before you bid, not afterward. Also, please note that Ebay’s postage calculations may be off. I questimate the packed weight of items. If I am on the low side, which I have been, I eat the extra shipping cost; if I am on the high side, and there is funds left over afterwards, I will refund the cost savings to you via Paypal. Many satisfied buyers will attest to this.
4. Shipment: Items are usually shipped within 5 business days from the date the buyer’s payment clears. If you pay by echeck or other form of payment requiring a waiting period, the shipment period begins from the date payment is cleared, not when it was received.
5. Local Pick-Up: Items advertised for “Local Pick-Up Only” MUST BE PICKED UP NO LATER THAN 7 DAYS following the end of the auction, unless mutually agreed to otherwise.

PAYMENT TERMS:

1. Payment: Paypal, unless agreed to otherwise. For items that are to be picked up locally, I prefer that these items be paid for at time of pick-up.
2. Due Date: With the exception of local pick-ups, buyer agrees to pay total payment within 48 hours following the end of the auction. If you cannot make payment, within this time frame (due to work, family commitments, vacation, etc.), please notify me of this before you bid, not after! Thank you!

RETURN POLICY:

1. Standards: I treat my buyers the way I want to be treated as a customer. Every effort is made to accurately represent the item(s) being listed, but ultimately, the bidder should be fully satisfied with all aspects of this auction listing prior to placing a bid. If you have any questions you should contact me before you bid, not after.
2. Refunds: Where it has been mutually agreed to, beforehand, item(s) can be returned for a refund within 10 days of confirmed delivery. Refunds will be limited to the maximum of the winning bid amount only. No costs will be reimbursed for shipping charges (packing, postage, insurance, tracking, etc.) either way. Buyer will be responsible for prepaying all costs associated with shipping the item(s) back to the seller, including insurance and delivery confirmation (both highly recommended). The amount refunded, will be conditional on the item(s) being received back in the same condition they were (it was) shipped out in. I do not offer refunds due to buyer‘s remorse.
