I am very pleased to present for sale this Fine Victorian Eastlake Walnut and Burl Walnut Marble Top Dresser with matching marble top washstand circa 1875. This splendid 2 piece set offers beautiful rich walnut and burl walnut, brass Lion head pulls and fine incised and applied carvings.
The marble top drop well dresser measures 76 inches ( 6 ft 4 in) in total height from the floor to the top,32 1/2 inches in height from the floor to the marble top sides,height from the floor to the top of the marble at the center measures 23 inches, 19 inches in depth and 43 1/2 inches in total width and this dresser weighs approximately 145 lbs. The mirror appears to be a vintage replacement and measures 39 inches high by 17 inches wide. All the locks are intact on the drawers but we do not have they key. The white and gray veined beveled edge marble tops are original and in fine antique condition with only a couple of small rim chips on the underside edges.
The matching marble top washstand measures 37 1/2 inches in height to the top of the backsplash, height to the top of the marble at the front measures 27 1/2 inches, total width measures 30 1/4 inches and 16 inches in total depth and weighs approximately 100 lbs. The white and gray veined beveled edge marble top with shaped backsplash and candle stands is original to the piece and is in fine antique condition with only some very slight chipping behind the candle stand base where it attaches to the back....nothing major in my opinion and not very noticeable unless close inspection. The walnut base offers a storage drawer with raised panels of burl walnut, matching brass Lion head drawer pulls and a double cabinet below for storage. Just a fine 2 piece Victorian set with an attractive and wonderful presence that would be a great addition to a Victorian walnut bed.
