Vases with the Onyx decoration where the products that made the art glass studio Johann Loetz Witwe famous. Glass was processed in a special manner where the result was a semi-precious stone-like appearance. Many vases were decorated afterwards with gold and cold enamel colors around them to lend a touch of peculiarity. The production of this decoration was very difficult and time consuming, and the perfection that the artisans of Johann Loetz Witwe acquired in the production of these vases, formed the foundation for the creation of the genus Phaenomen.
Onyxvasen waren die Erzeugnisse die Johann Loetz Witwe berühmt gemacht haben. Glas wurde so verarbeitet, dass am Schluss eine halbedelsteinartige Optik zu sehen war. Viele Vasen wurden im Anschluss mit Gold und Kaltemailfarben bemalt um ihnen nocheinmal einen Hauch Besonderheit zu verleihen. Die Herstellung dieses Dekors war sehr schwierig und zeitaufwändig und die Perfektion, die die Handwerker der Glashütte Johann Lötz Witwe bei der Produktion solcher Vasen erlangten, bildete den Grundstein für das erschaffen der Dekorgattung Phaenomen.
This vase was produced around 1890. She is in an excellent condition, the enamel paint shows usual signs of age. The name of the decoration is "Onyx", one of the most popular design versions of the time.
Diese Vase wurde um 1890 produziert. Sie ist in einem ausgezeichneten Zustand, die Emailbemalung weißt altersüblich Gebrauchsspuren auf. Der Name des Dekors lautet "Onyx", eine der beliebtesten Dekorvarianten der damaligen Zeit.
