On offer is a VINTAGE/RARE Apple PowerBook 3400 Prototype (codenamed: Hooper). This prototype (DVT - Development Validity Testing) unit is in good cosmetic condition considering its age. The PB however does *not* power up. It is still however a good example of an Apple prototype of the PB3400 series. The PB is provided only with a main battery and removable floppy drive. For details on the PB3400 series see the following web site, http://www.apple-history.com/3400. This prototype has the following details... * This PB is DVT 'Build #332', PB Development Team s/n: PB03232 (bottom case also has s/n: CK6252PV8GK, meaning the PB was built in week 25 of 1996 making this prototype almost 16 years old) * PB is equipped with 200MHz IBM CPU, Samsung 12.1 SVGA LCD, 16MB of on-board RAM and 2GB hard drive * PB comes with removable floppy drive module * PB comes with 'Hooper Pre-Production Li-Ion Battery) * ONLY the top case palm rests have the plastics etched. The remainder of the PB's plastics are non-etched (i.e. shiny) which is typical of the way prototypes are 'assessed' before going into mass production.
