This is a most unusual offering. Here is the story behind this Robot.
I was visiting a very good friend and major Robot collector. He has some of the most beautiful and rare robots I have ever seen in my 50+ years of collecting. All of a sudden, my eyes moved to one of his showcases. In front of me was this "DRUMMER ROBOT". I HAD NEVER SEEN OR EVEN HEARD OF THIS ROBOT! I fell in love, immediately (haven't felt like that in years). He told me that this robot originally came with a "human-type", head. THIS WAS A UNIQUE AND RARE ROBOT THE WAY IT CAME ORIGINALLY, EVEN BEFORE THE HEAD CHANGE.
He went on to say that he had replaced the original head with another head that he felt made this beautiful specimen perfect for his collection. I could not agree more. This Robot, top to bottom, is near perfect. I have been collecting toys, including robots for many years. I guess I fell in love. Recently, there was another robot similar to this. sold on e'bay very successfully. Now, because I am thinning my collection, I am selling mine.
FOR THE ULTIMATE IN OBSCURITY AND TRUE COLLECTIBILITY, THERE'S NO BEATING THIS UNIQUE AND INTERESTING PIECE!
Here is how it works. He is Battery Operated. Has two separate
"ON AND OFF FUNCTIONS". When he is turned on:
1. Moves forward and walks with a separate switch. Stops walking when this switch is turned off.
2. When you set the second switch, his arms go up and down, beating his tin-lithographed drum.
3. When beating the drum he stands at attention and only moves when the second switch is turned on.
HEIGHT IS 11"
You must look at all the pictures carefully to see the great condition of the body and head. All of the parts on this body are tin litho except for his hands and feet. Substitute head is original tin litho, as well.

An experienced robot collector infomed me that the wire has been replaced. It was that way when I purchased the Robot. He also asked if the tabs are all there. The answer to that is yes. I wanted to upload this additional information.
