I needed a change from my three year+ LG C1300 as the buttons needed to be pressed harder and the reception was starting to fade on me, even when the reception signal was at it's highest. So, some research was done online, and after taking the advice of my older sister, I found that the Motorola C139 was both appealing and very useful. I'm not one for fancy gadgets - I don't need a camera on my cellphone. I have a separate digital camera for better and high-quality photographs. I don't need to listen to music on my cellphone - I have an iPod that still retains it's long lasting battery (even after a year) and 20 gigs of storage to boot! I don't need pretty pictures or a pretty skin cover. All I need is text messaging space, buttons that actually press the letter that I want, and reception. Maybe a jaunty little ringtone tune to alert me when someone calls, but that's all I really need. So, I awarded this model four stars out of the five. It has really good reception - I can receive calls even when I'm in one of the rooms in my house, which has earned fame and recognition of being a reception-zero room. When I text message, oh goodness, I can actually press the key a number of times and NOT be on the first letter still! It's amazing! The only downside to this pretty model is that there's a limit to the text messaging space - a low number too, when comparing it to the LG C1300. 30 messages for inbox and 20 for outbox? Please. I like to keep my meaningful text messages from my friends. Another downside that's not a major factor, but could be in the upcoming years, is that there's no speaker function. I'd probably keep this phone for a year, year-half, and then get a new model (with a larger text message capacity and a speaker) but for now, it'll do.Read full review
The Motorola C139 is great for the price, but you get what you pay for. This phone is small - perfect for little hands. I purchased it as a first phone for my 9 year old so she can always be in contact with me if needed. It has the usual menu options - alarm, calculator, address book, etc. However, you cannot download ringtones and the screen is plain text - no pictures, wall paper, backgrounds, etc. Other than that, it is a good no-nonsense phone with a fairly long battery life of around 80 hours with heavy use.
Hello guys, up for reviews today is a phone I once used for tracfone the motorola c139. 1st phone, it worked good, i was in the bathroom flushed the toilet and down went the phone, of course it was dead after this and it was gone to the sewer. 2nd phone. Had this phone with at&t service, instead of tracfone, I noticed a possible ui change, better service and the fact you could use this as prepaid or personal because AT&T does not put a sim lock on pay as you go sim cards. The phone wasn't that good for texting but it was pretty good also for just the games, I got addicted to the one where there is the ball and it is kind of like brick attack, found on most keyocera phones, but i totally forget the name. 3rd phone, was tracfone i got it for my sister, it was washed in the hose, fell and got sprayed an a red dot to prove this. got the screen to change colors and call different people from her contacts, tried drying and then it stopped even working as even a phone, it would go to the tracfone turn on screen reset itself and do it again until you did something like press a button itd go off, or the battery would die. it still mysteriously charged, so it was used for a moto charger, or planned to if i found a phone with the same battery and then all now i get was a lit up keypad. i took it apart, which voided the warranty, if any since wet. now all i got was nothing and figured i should replace it and recycle it which i did.Read full review
It worked great for a vacation phone. Durable and easy to use and good coverage. Great that it came with activation, minutes, and 60 days. What I dislike is not being able to extend time without also buying minutes so I can use it on my next vacation without paying for re-activation. The phone was worth it and worked well for my purposes. Depends on price if I'll ever use it again.
Even the AT&T shutting down all the tower for this phone but and work no more on AT&T and Cingular network, but I like this vantage cell heavy duty and long life battery and will work on Tmobil as long as the 2G tower exist. Not every C139 would work on T Mobil like Tracfone and many other Network not working on T Mobil that is why you have to be careful. Thanks
