The 72cc 041 Super introduced the term Muscle Saw to Woodsmen at it's inception. Performance exceeded design expectations. At idle (about 2100 rpm) it developes 3.7 hp. which was and still is pretty phenomenal. (The vast majority of new saws today cannot compete with the power to weight ratio of the 041 Super.) It develops about 6.1 horses at maximum output. This is very competitive with the 89cc 051 and a general assumption can be made that the tech data referred to hp at idle rather than max because Stihl would have had trouble selling the 051s had everyone known they could get a much lighter and less costly saw with a very close maximum hp comparison. The 041 Super is but one of the saws that established Stihl as the World Leader in High Output Dependable chainsaws. Even at 30 yrs. of age, these saws are still proven as extremely dependable, long running and competitive or superior to anything close to it's displacement to date. Great Saw.Read full review

I liked my 362 better for performance to weight ratio. This is Stihl quality and easy of operation with Midrange power. Once you go Stihl you'll not go back to lesser quality saws.

This saw was called refurbished it smokes nuts are falling off after 1 tank of fuel cutting wood. The saw does not have the power it should have. This saw may last a few years before I have to rebuild it. Not really happy at all.

The problem with a Racer or a Big Bore Period, is the fact that the motor is going to run a lot Hotter your average Saw! When your running hot like you are your going to obviously burn faster than normal! Just your cooling fines aren't enough to cool the motor, that is why I have the Copper Heat Plate added to the Saw, runs just to the Cooling Fins 💯 Degrees Cooler! A big Help to keep the saw cool and last longer than it would without, you will get your normal life back out of the saw, Providing that you don't get Really Carried away, then Your on your own! Remember that? Think 💭 Please, it your Saw!

I have used and had the saw for 3-4 years and it had performed flawlessly until my son put gas without oil in it and ran it through, scoring the piston and wrecking the saw. This saw has plenty of power and saw a lot of use until this unfortunate problem.
