I was looking for an inexpensive phone to store home movies on & mirror to my HDTV & seem to have found it! Using a wired MHL connection I get a good clear picture to the tv. After finding activation bypass codes online I still get a sim card required message, but it swipes away. Even without bypassing the activation it seemed like there was an option to use wifi. The phone accepted a 64GB Micro SD card that had been in a Samsung phone without any issues. I have been able to load .wmv movies up to 4GB (about an hour in 1080 HD) at a time & they play on the phone. I haven't tried using it to stream movies via wifi, but the phone seems quick & responsive. I do not plan to use this as a regular phone, just video storage/player/streamer and so far so good.

I really wanted to like this phone especially at such a great price, but it just does not work all that well. It's slow to respond, freezes a lot, and will go to random screens at times on it's own. The worst part is, when I try to make a call it will freeze and shut off then restart! It does this once or twice before allowing a call to actually go through. This could be a Huge problem if you needed to make a quick emergency call. Considering this is a Phone, it needs to be able to make calls the first time without problem. I would not recommend this device to Anyone. It looks nice and has great resolution, but that's about it. None of that matters when the phone won't even work properly. Htc still makes my favorite phones and I will likely go back to those as I haven't had a dud with them yet. Avoid this LG phone!Read full review

Bought this phone when I broke my (second) Samsung Stratosphere. So far, it seems like a serious upgrade. The one I bought had an extended battery, which I highly recommend. Smartphones burn through batteries so fast, and this made a huge difference. I can now make it through the whole day without charging it. The downside: the extra battery IS bulky, and does make the phone somewhat awkward to store. The screen is extremely clear and well-lit, and the touch sensitivity is pretty spot-on. Call quality is good, although sometimes, the microphone sounds a little bit muffled. Apps and e-mail work superbly, navigation is both accurate and easy to use. If I had to choose between this and my original phone, it would be no contest. I never would have bought the Samsung in the first place.
Battery isn't good, so order an extended or keep chargers on hand. It gets loose in the compartment (happened in two phones so it's an issue to me) and it won't charge. I don't think it's a port issue, just a battery connection problem sometimes. No smartphone has great battery life, so it's something you have to deal with. Screen is very tough. I've dropped it a couple times and no damage (unlike the iphone which shatters easily). I've had a text issue where it will disappear while typing so I have to start over, but that's not often. Volume seems to turn itself on when I purposely turn it off for work. Don't know if it's a setting or glitch issue. Bluetooth issue was corrected with last version update. Overall the phone is pretty good for the price. I would recommend.
I have had this phone about a year its the first Smart phone that I have gotten after looking at several other options and I feel hands down as good if not better then the Apple Phone in a comparison of the 2 . My sons have had apple phones many times and I didn't find that they were any more sophisticated , both phones have 8 GB camera and the display is a bit different , but access to similar apps . So I would say the LG SPECTRUM is good quality cell phone with unlimited options , which is an advantage over the IPHONE. Its a decent phone , but is on the larger screen size if you are looking for smaller screen
