The services offered by White Metal Games:
My name is Caleb and I operate White Metal Games, a miniature painting and conversion service for all your wargaming needs. We specialize in creating custom models for your favorite hobbies, including but not limited to Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Dungeons and Dragons, and other fantasy/sci-fi roleplaying or wargaming/tabletop games.
Our miniatures are kit bashed from a variety of sources, including but not limited to Mcfarlane Spawn and Mcfarlane Dragons, Star Wars miniatures, D&D miniatures, Kenner Aliens, Privateer Press, Games Workshop, Reaper miniatures, Kryomech, Safari LTD, and many, many others. We in no way claim these are original creations, merely original conversions of existing model kits and action figures.
We are not trying to pass our products off as original work. We primarily aim to create new models out of existing ranges. Often times our models are 're-interpreations' or 're'imaginings' of existing models. For example, many of our models could be thought of as 'poor-man's versions' or 'proxies' to be used until the miniature manufacturer comes out with an official model for standard play.
The nature of converting miniatures is that every model is a stand alone piece, unique in some way. Although we attempt to create models that can be replicated easily, so that anyone who wishes to purchase a similar model can do so, this is not always the case. Some bits are OOP, or unusually expensive or hard to obtain. While this means that your order will be personalized and one of a kind, it also means that not every model can be duplicated. We do our best to fulfill our clients every need and wish, but understand that there are limits to what we can do without the full resources of a major corporation at our disposal.
What is included with his auction:
Unless otherwise stated, this auction is only for the item and items primarily featured in this auction and those mentioned in the listing, as well as the items described in the title of the auction. Any additional models pictured for scale purposes or terrain pieces are NOT included with this auction. This also includes but is not limited to quarters, rulers, dollar bills, and soda cans.
WMG currently operates at a standard of about 3 business days from the time you pay for your order until the time we ship. Bear in mind that international orders can take as long as 6-8 weeks to reach their destination depending on what part of the world you like in. Please contact us is your item is delayed for a significant period of time.
It is our policy at White Metal Games to not accept returns on items unless there is significant damage to the products/merchandise or the item is lost in transit. Please read all descriptions of items thoroughly before bidding/buying and contact me with any questions.
We always ship using USPS and Ebay tracking, whenever possible. For international orders, we do not offer online tracking however if a parcel takes more than 3 weeks to reach it's destination, please contact me before leaving feedback and I will attempt to locate your goods. USPS does provide some means to locate items shipped abroad, however, it is not nearly as conducive as stateside tracking information.
YES, we ship internationally. We usually ship for a flat rate to anywhere in the world.
YES, we combine shipping. Please wait until I send you and invoice to pay for your items.
This chart summarizes our combined shipping rates, and we always use the most expensive item for shipping purposes to be the 'host' item that we combine from.
*Greater than 50% of the lot/models are based with washers, lead base weights, are cast from a heavy material such as dental stone, white metal, or the like. Weights are normally glued to the bases or permanently affixed in some way and thus are not easily removable without significant labor or without risking damage to the models themselves.
General** guidelines outlining size parameters:
Small lots: Infantry sized lots, generally not exceeding 60mm in more than one dimension (height, width, or length. Examples include most 15-28mm figures, infantry, cavalry, bikes, and including those based on 40mm bases such as Tyranid Warriors, Marine Terminators,Dreadnoughts, Imperial Sentinels, Warwalkers, models normally considered to be 'squads' or 'units' and the like.
Large lots: Larger than infantry sized lots generally not exceeding 90mm in more than one dimension (see Small Lots, above). Usually these are stand alone models, and examples includes most Space Marine Tanks, most Monstrous Creatures, and the like.
X-large lots: Extra large lots/models generally exceed 90mm in more than one dimension (see Small Lots, above). These are almost always stand alone models and include items such as Large Planes, Tanks, or Monsters, such as Imperial Valkyries, Land Raiders, and Gargantuan Creatures.

International Shipping and associated tariff's/fee's:
WMG is aware that clients receiving goods overseas, esp. in the United Kingdom, are required to pay a tariff or fee to receive items from the USA. Fees for obtaining your parcels in the UK may be dissuadingly high, and generally the more you pay for an item the more the tarriff. Some items will arrive without incurring this associated fee, but ALL ITEMS received internatioanlly are fair game and the criteria for which items get through the gate without being levied are unclear to those of us that do not live in the UK. This is not a fee that is assigned by WMG. We have no say one way or another regarding these fees. Due to Federal law we cannot declare your parcel at a lower value than it was sold for. In the event any insured item(s) are damaged/lost in transit, WMG can file a claim on your behalf for the value of the items sold, which serves to protect all parties involved in the transaction.
We have no leeway nor ability to abolish or lessen these sorts of tarriff's/fee's incured on international shipping. Buyer be warned.
Unless otherwise stated, all products and miniatures are provided AS IS with no guarantee or warranties afforded. Although we do our best to ensure your items are handled delicately and shipped securely, the nature of shipping miniatures and models with delicate parts is that some items do get damaged during transit. Buyer be warned. We use the best shipping methods available to ensure that the packages are secure and that your items remain unharmed during transit. To keep the cost of shipping as low as possible, we ofter reuse boxes for the purpose of shipping. Although this can give the impression at first glance that we just shove your models in a box and abscond with your hard earned money, this couldn't be further from the truth. We want your items to arrive safely and for you to enjoy them for years to come.
Does WMG offer painting services:
YES, WMG also offers painting by request. We have primarily existed as a conversion business thus far, with less than 5% of our clients requesting their models be painted. We feel this more reflects our tendencies than talents. As most of our work is for conversions only, we have very few pictures of fully painted models, thus clients do not often think of us a painting sevice. That being said, we are more than capable of painting individual models, terrain, even full armies! We use every technique and bit of modern technology at our disposal to paint your figures as quickly and efficiently as possible, including spray guns, airbrush, paint guns, and traditional brushes.
We favor speed over detail at WMG. We in no way claim to be a pro-painting service.
Your model can be painted in any basic color scheme you like to a tabletop standard. In most cases this paint job is the cost of the model itself, RETAIL value. For example a custom figure that is closely based upon a model that retails for $50.00 USD will be $50.00 USD to paint as well. Because some auctions will much lower than retail cost depending on the market, Ebay store 'sales' and 'markdowns' we keep the cost of painting as a constant. Using the above example, if the figure mentioned earlier sold for $25.00 USD, painting the figure to a tabletop standard would still be $50.00 USD, despite the price reduction. If there is no retail value for this sort of figure we will use a similar model for comparative pricing. It can be painted to a '3 color down' standard (which is minimum tournament legal in most areas) for half price, although this will be a much less detailed paint job. This price includes varnishing for protection. Pictures of painted figures available upon request.
Do you have a website:
NO, currently WMG does not have a website, as I am a technological neanderthal. However, check out our blog here:
For you tournament players out there, we realize that our models are often time described as 'not tournament friendly' or 'illegal', or even 'not playable'. This is often due to issues such as size/scale, or the parts used for the construction of these models. And to those players we say this:
Tournaments are an artificial environment, laying down restrictions and criteria to provide a competitive environment. Using your imagination and doing what you want with your toy soldiers is your choice, not the game developers. We'd like to see more in official publications such as White Dwarf and on the GW website reminding players that they are perfectly entitled to bend the rules as they see fit, so long as their opponents agree to them. Remember, it's only a game.
Even as the world edges towards and more and more competitive play style, where winning is put before having fun, we are WMG will remain stoic and hold to our mantra: It's a game. Play it any way you like, with any pieces you like. Just have fun doing it.
Obtaining a Quote for Services:
The question is often posed whether or not WMG offers custom models per client request. YES. In fact over half our business is simply by request. WMG has a blog updated weekly. You can see many of our wonderful custom models here: http://whitemetalgames.blogspot.com
Custom models are created as per your specifications. I have thousands of pictures showing examples of models I have constructed for clients previously in a variety of ranges. I am happy to send you pictures upon request.
The makeup and build of your particular model is up to you. Many clients want to base their model on an existing GW model, such as a carnifex or trygon. Other clients will request something more extravagant, using out of production models or figures from other ranges. Some clients will simply want a display piece for their shelf that will never see the tabletop. I am well versed in all of these sorts of conversions.
I am an experienced sculptor and will blend the various parts of your model together using plasticard, parts from other kits, and 2 part epoxy putty to make a unified, cohesive whole. Your model will be a custom piece to be proud of and show off to your friends.
Your model will be based appropriately and in a way that pleases you. It can be mounted by a pin to the base, suspended above the base, or in a specific pose (such as landing, taking off, or in flight). It can be textured with bark (which has a finished look that is similar to slate) and sand at no extra cost. It can also be primed either white or black for free, or if another color of your choosing for a nominal charge. Please tell us if you would like your model primed. We use Walmart brand 'Great Value' primer, flat black and flat white, unless otherwise noted.
Your model can be armed any way you like. You can specifiy specific biomorphs, weapons, etc. It can even be magnetized, although this will carry an additional charge depending on the options you wish included with your model.
For tournament players, we will ensure this model is tournament legal for your ease of play if you so desire.
Turnaround time on our figures are about 4 weeks, or about 6 weeks painted (see below). The time is from the time you order to the time it will take to reach you at your door. International customers please add 2-4 weeks to the above depending on which part of the world you live in. We try to make sure our shipping costs are as low as they can be. Shipping anywhere in the world is rarely over $10 (for most models) to $20 (for heavier models) USD.
