This is a great book about the wrongful death civil suit brought by the Goldman family against O.J. Simpson. It is very interesting in that the reader learns of the tremendous amount of work & research that is involved in a case like this. It is well-written by Daniel Petrocelli, the attorney for the Goldman family. There are many insights into the deceptive & charming nature of O.J. Simpson & the series of events that enraged him enough to commit the brutal murders. The book takes the reader through all the depositions of O.J. Simpson and others who offered invaluable testimony into the days & events leading up to the crime.
This book details the civil matter of Goldman v Simpson. Regardless of your view of the outcome, the author quickly engages you in the rapid development of the case. A must for legal thriller fans and those passionate about the law and its inner workings. One of my favorite books, a real page turner.
I couldn't put it down. After watching the OJ criminal trial on TV and seeing the gross miscarriage of justice, I was left with a deep disappointment that the man who slaughtered two innocent people walked away smiling. He was sure he was untouchable. The civil suit brought by the victims' families was an amazing unfolding of commitment to justice. Every step drew me into the roller coaster ride. Was Simpson going to walk again? It sure seemed like it often enough. I sat in on his depositions, on the stategies of the attornies, the courtroom drama. This was NOT the criminal trial replayed. Don't miss out on this brilliant book.
Another whitewash, please read Springer's "If OJ didn't..." (Not Jerry!) and some from Alex Constantine also, a brilliant journalist. The truth will set us free, there is SO MUCH more to this story than meets the eye, and we will never really know all the ugly details, I just really ask that you all open your minds and read some alternative press, in all subjects!
Book reads like a novel. Petrocelli is masterful at uncovering items in OJ Simpson civil trial that never came out in the criminal trial. He was excellent at cross examination of OJ on the stand. Justice was finally served and this book explains how it transpired.
