Hello Bidders...this is a great auction. The buy it now price includes not only the Trek 990 full build with 3 sets of pedals, plus MORE..***SEE BELOW DESCRIPTION ITS A LOT***
I will take any offers, however, only the BUY IT NOW gets you everything I have mentioned. The seat in NOT INCLUDED unless you BUY IT NOW...I have also decided that if the winner of the auction wants to try the clipless pedals (any of the three) I can include the following: with the Shimano Look style pedals I can include at least a set of used Look gray pedals (4.5 degrees of float) and if you want one of the sets of clipless I have a used pair of size 10 Specialized MTB shoes with used Shimano SPD cleats (they are nice, have life left both cleats and shoes--the shoes were about 100 bucks new--let me know if you want pics)...
I just made a photo album that has about 200 pictures of my bike. It is public, go to photobucket.com/trek990 and see as many as you want. I got every angle, every part, every lighting...check it out (there are other things in there too--most are listed on Ebay in my other auctions).
This is the toughest auction I have ever listed. It is my Trek 990, a True Temper Ox Comp III Triple Butted steel frame. It is a one of a kind frame. Quite possibly the best frame and paint job Trek ever made. It is handmade in the USA in a rare gunmetal grey color (only a few hundred of these were made), and is very light for a Trek frame. It originally came (in 1996) with all Shimano XT M737 components and a Rock Shox Judy XC fork. I have rebuilt this bike a few times over the years. That is the beauty of this bike. It has a Mavic adapter on the back wheel that allows the bike to fit 700cc wheels. With the Time Slice Prodigy SI fork and Promax road brake along with Shimano 600 brake levers (using a brand new NOS travel agent on the back brake), it is basically an on road off road cyclocross style touring bike. I have even had a Manitou suspension fork and Mavic brake adapter in front and run 700cc wheels off road with a front fork. This latest build is the lightest it ever was, and when I had everything you see here except Chris King on Velocity Aerohead rims for wheels (same tires), the bike weighed just over 22 pounds. It can be used to race or train cyclo, a great commuter or touring bike, and also switch it over to a hardtail mountain bike by adding the 26" wheels and a suspension or rigid MTB fork. As it sits it weighs 22 lbs at the shop scale.
Here are the parts, and these are included with the bike (WITHOUT THE BUY IT NOW PRICE): ATTN: the front tire alone is over a pound (490 grams) and the tubes are both filled with slime also adding weight (Albuquerque NM where I am currently working is full of thorns and goatheads), so easily with regular tubes and another Specialized tire ((All conditions are about 260gms)) like the back and you lose more than 2 pounds...

Specialized Rib Cage bottle cage in matching grey
Cork--brand new Profile Design--Grey and black marble
***and yes I have the seatpost clamp turned around backwards...it just fit me better that way...it can be turned around
***and yes I left the Kooka sticker (downtube) as well as the vintage Mavic stickers on the seatstays (very classic looking), there is an XTR sticker on the seattube as well, and a True Temper sticker on the top of the seatstay as well as a "Fatbol" (a friend of mine's company) and an Albuquerque Bikeworks sticker on the left side of the fork.
I just re-wrapped the bars with brand new, black and grey marble Profile Design cork. I did leave one layer of an extra thick Salsa MTB tube around the hot spot of each drop and one layer of Specialized Thin tube around the top (underneath the cork of course), and custom wrapped the strange but cool thumb shifter on top (see last pic). One bar end is a Profile (I just got--"aged" it) and the other is a well broken in Pearl Izumi (if you're like me you could care less). I also "re-built" the tops of the Shimano 600 brake hoods--I tried to find the replacement tops (which are long gone) but couldn't and instead used bike tubing and electrical tape. It is comfortable. You can absolutely find replacement hoods and tops but these are still okay with a lot of life. THIS WAS A CUSTOM move of my own, as it saves my hands when off-road as I am a guitar player not just a bike enthusiast and mechanic. I figured I would just leave it. A lot of people like different things and you may change the bars out anyways. You can always unwrap the cork and remove what is underneath and replace it since I just put it on.
THIS is my 10th or so bike that I have sold here on Ebay. I have had this guy the whole way through. I have only seen a few other Trek 990s...they had the double butted version in red but only this triple butted version came out in 1996 only in this grey and another root beer colored one (shiny metallic brown looking one). I am only selling this because I need the money to get a new road bike (I am now commuting further than ever into mountains)...
It will be sitting at the local bike shop along with the wheels I have listed.
heres the surprise...
