The DCI Oversize+ irons are large, but still manageable. Mine are the black series with steel shafts. They launch the ball easily with a pleasant feel. They hit medium high, and pretty straight. However, the knock on these irons are they have more loft than modern iron sets, and are 10-20 yds shorter, particularly on the long irons. The 3-iron has 22 degrees of loft, while the 9-iron is up to 43. These are 4- and P-wedges in modern sets. The dual cut soles of the P and W wedges are very helpful. The utility of these wedges make them re-sale items almost at the same individual prices as a whole set of these irons. The Ping Eye2+ wedges have this same C-grind soles. Starting when King Cobra began to strengthen the lofts, there have been dozens of game improvement irons that feel as well, and certainly farther, than the Titleist DCI Oversize+. Of current models, the Wilson Staff D100, Ping G25, Mizuno JPX, and Callaway Razr offerings are superior.Read full review
These clubs are excellent. They were just as described online. The grips are new Winn grips. The shafts appear new and the heads are only slightly worn. I have owned them for a few months and played several rounds with them. These clubs and I have won lots of skins :). I initially decided to buy these clubs because they are the closest in comparison to my old clubs (dci knock-offs -- k-o's). The reason I was shopping was my eight iron was stolen. I was not able to replace the eight because these clubs were a prize for viewing lakeside property and made only for that realtor (my choices were clubs, 36"tv, or china). They turned out to be close to dci knock-offs. I have owned them for ten+ years. I'm a 10 handicap when I play regularly and won good skins with these old clubs. I've hit ping jst's and others but always went back to the k-o's. When these dci's arrived, I was so pleased at their condition that I immediately left for the driving range at the local gc. I hit them so well that I played a round with these guys and bagged 7 skins wth 4 carry-overs. As a side note, it was really special, I had just started a recovery program and this was my third sober round of golf. I think I'll keep the clubs, and my sobriety. Thanks for reading.Read full review
These irons are awesome, i have been using callaway 2002 models but they have too much offset (although they are great) and i thought i was ready for some better clubs. I was right, the first time i used them i was 3 over after 9 holes (i had never done that), the few drives that landed in trouble (behind or under trees) i just pulled the 3 iron out and hit it low under the branches and landed on the green in 2 on a par 4 with second shot under the trees. These irons are long and straight, I was always pulling shots left with my callaways, but not with these, these are straight on unless you give it a bad swing. Overall these irons are the best i have played so far, i have used Mizuno T-zoids, Callaway x-14, x-16pro, Big Bertha 2002, Precept, Ping rapture clones, etc. I also think my game has improved to where i needed a change in clubs to match my game.Read full review
Hadn't been playing much golf, but still go out a fair amount, so I finally switched from my Wilson Staff blades to these cavity backs. Love the heavier swing weight, large head, and just an overall 'confident' feel at 'dressing the ball. Til I start playing golf more frequently, the blades will stay at home.
