I have been using Titleist clubs for years, but I believe the D2 driver is the best ever. The clubs react a little differently by a shft you pick. Diamana is sticky shaft and great for swingers. YS6+ has more instant kick. Good for a hitters and punchers but also OK for swingers with higher head speed. UST shaft is over 70 grams and significantly stiffer than other shafts for the same flex. This is only for hard hitters. Aldila VS shaft is also very good for hard hitters but it is flexible enought for regular head speed to handle. However in order to extract optimimum performance, it needs at least 95 mile/hour. Original Aldila shaft is a little easy version of NV and good for almost any level but hard hitters may bend balls to left. Overall great performance with all these shafts and great feeling when you hit in the middle of the face remains the same.Read full review
I bought the driver 907d2 10.5* on ebay with a great deal with Aldila proto 65s stiff shaft. Played on golf course and it is extremely & surprisingly straight and accurate. I also hit it much longer than all my other drivers, such as Taylormade r9, Callaway FT3, X forged, FT-IZ and Srixon Z-TX, Exotics driver. It really sounds crazy since I normally use regular shaft for my 85 miles swing speed. I uses most stiff shaft for 3 wood and hybrids, however, I also used regular shaft for my 3 wood and hybrids. It seems there is no much problems either use stiff or regular shaft. Stiff shaft requires swing speed faster than 90 miles. For me, result is that stiff shaft has more straight shot while regular shaft has more flex kick with less accuracy even mostly are also acceptable. It is not a big deal for handicap of 85-95. The shaft won't change much in score. While I was using the 907D2 Aldila 65S stiff driver, I don't feel much problem with the stiffness of shaft. The swing is just smooth and ball jumped off the head with nice "ting" sound. The result has been very pleasing after 2 rounds of golf on course. Ball just goes straight and trajectory is high too for 10.5* loft. That is the way I like the ball goes. Honestly, I am not a big hitter like other people claims hitting 270-300 yards. I normally hit 200-220 if I hit it solid. But my 907D2 could help me go to 215-240 yards which is already a crazy result with every shot on fairway. I don't even worry about going hook or slice any more. What a performing driver! I have also owned probably 40 drivers already including all major brand like Callaway, Taylormade, Ping, Cobra, Cleveland and other asian model like Honma, Maruman, Onoff, etc. Titleist definitely makes top performing drivers for tour player with reputable quality. I currently still have more than ten drivers on hand, but I will keep my 907D2 in my bag now.Read full review
I was concerned about the reviews the Mitsubishi 'made for Titleist' Diamana Blue shaft was getting in the Titleist 907D2 10.5 degree driver because everyone was saying this was not the 'real' Blue Board shaft. After reading the Titleist Customer Service reply to inquiries about the difference between the real Blue Board and the Made for Titleist Blue Board, I decided to try it out for myself. I purchased a 10.5 degree 907D2 with the stiff Diamana stiff shaft. I played it today for the first time. Course conditions were not ideal with the damp fairways and the 20+ MPH wind gusts. Into a headwind, I could have used a 9.5 degree driver to keep the ball flight a little lower. I was averaging 250 yards total driving distance into a head wind. My total driving distance under normal weather conditions with my Cleveland HiBore and a stiff UST V2 shaft is 265 yards. Todays tailwinds presented no problems at all, increasing my total driving distance by 15 to 20 yards. My swing speed is between 95 and 100 MPH. The one thing I noticed immediately was the control the club gave me over ball direction. I was contacting most of my drives in the center of the club face (no bragging intended) and that may have been the reason for the excellent directional control. The feedback from the club head through the shaft was excellent as well. I think I could have been blindfolded and still would have been able to tell the direction of the ball flight. The shaft did not feel like a board nor did it feel whippy. My golfing buddy was so impressed with how I was hitting the ball, he asked to try it. He normally hits a regular flex shaft in a Callaway driver and his first drive with the Titleist 907D2 travelled approximately 20 yards further than the practice drive he hit with his Callaway. He was surprised at the results. I was surprised he hit the stiff Diamana so straight and long. He offered to buy my club. All in all, I would say that if Titleist co-designed the Diamana shaft with Mitsubishi, whether or not this shaft is the 'real' Blue Board is insignificant. It seems to match very well with the club head. I can't believe Mitsubishi or Titleist would put anything into this club that didn't do justice to both companies. This is simply a great driver with a great shaft and I am well satisfied with the results.Read full review
This Club, shaft and head cover were all in excellent condition. It has the exact same shaft I have used in my last several drivers. The Pro Forse UST V2 76 gram is a very beefy stiff shaft. It is an 8.5* loft and not recommended for the amateur. I like it into the wind but have to make a concerted big upswing in order to get it up to even 12* launch angle. I do not know if I will use it for tournament play immediately but enjoy carrying 15 clubs for practice rounds and keeping it low into a hard wind. I am very glad that I own it.
The Titleist 907D2 driver is as beautiful as it is a performer. It looks great and gives the feel of being able to do whatever you want with the ball. The sound is typical of similar high MOI drivers on the market; I prefer the sound previous Titleist drivers make. I got the 10.5 degree and am happy with it, but I would suggest the 9.5 degree since the 10.5 gets the ball high. I got the standard stiff shaft but would recommend a SpeedShaft for better feel. I get good distance with this driver but about the same as most drivers out there. But great driver for moving the ball. I bought this driver based on Golf Magazine's test results, past performance and the low cost from Ebay.
