Even tho it took a bit longer than I expected to get here, no problem there, I am somewhat dissapointed in the quality of the actual cd's. From the first cd I was running into hesitations in the movie, people would freeze and act very jerky and we would lose the audio. On at least 2 occasions the movie stopped and went back to menu by itself. I have 2 cd players and sometimes one would play what the other wouldnt, but both of them had trouble with the cd's. Im into the 3rd season and am enjoying catching up on what I missed for 4 years, but the glitches are very frustrating and there was one segment in the 3rd year that I had to miss completely, everything went wrong and I had to go past it. I'm not blaming the folks that I got the cd's from, they didnt make them, but highly irritating problems like this bleed into many places.....BillRead full review
This is one of my all tie favorite series. Others include "All Creatures Great and Small" (kind of interesting the title vs. the Sopranos content. This is much better than watching on TV, real language and no ads. In the set I purchased, for some reason season one had sub-titles which was even better because sometimes it is hard to understand what the actors are saying. As soon as the next seasons are available, someone PLEASE email me! Interesting is that the killings all seem to go un-investigated, where are the Feds on that? We love guessing what will happen next, and trying to think like T and the rest of the gang. Just like in real life, this kind of stuff happens - maybe not as bad - and it all makes for a great story. I can see why friends who years ago had HBO became addicted to this series, and like MASH, what a pity it is now over. All there is now are the dumb shows.Read full review
I purchased the Sopranos DVD set series 1 through 5 and received a nice box that held the DVD's that I paid for. The only thing that I have noticed is that the dvd's are in no particular order and upon playing have noticed some interesting discrepencies. There is no order of season or episode reflected on the dvd's and that is the biggest frustration. There is different menu's and options that are available on some but not all dvd's in collection along with picture quality variences. There are some dvd's that are duplicates of others so it is unknown if every episode of each season is actually present in the collection or not. I have experienced these issues but still feel that the price paid is worth what the product provides and would still purchase for same amount but not a penny more.
I am totally excited over these. I am sure many of you saw the price and said OMG i can't believe this price and bidded, without reading entire page. He mention they are asain made. The box they come in is smaller than what you see in a store.and the picture on ebay reflects that.yes you can buy in store for $60 plus, and everything is english, or buy this tapes and have the stuff you don't read in asian, like anyone reads that crap anyway. So what you have to click a couple of buttons to turn subtitles off. I love my set of season 1-5 Sopranos even with a broken disc, all I did is email him and he ask me to check all disc and he would replace any damage ones.Which i did.and he is making good on them. My husband and I also have made this our special time to be together and watch them together.I would buy from this person again. For anything you Buy on ebay... You have to read "ALL" the auction page, not just picture price and how much time is left on auctions. Once again I LOVE MY TAPESRead full review
Anything under the heading "Sopranos - The Complete Seasons 1-5 (2006, DVD)" is most likely an Asian Import (aka bootleg). I will be honest and say that the quality is great for the price I paid for, but if I really wanted to get something bootlegged, I would have done it through Torrent. The item was advertised as New, but it was VERY DISCRETELY opened. The item was also not advertised as an "Asian Import." Some of the discs that I received had The Sopranos disc covers on top of them, but others had completely random (had nothing to do with the show) photos of people with a The Sopranos logo on it. I plan on watching these DVD's, and then selling them off. Do yourself a favor and go to Best Buy.
