Having personal experience with the subject matter (my two sons were kidnapped in 1988), I find the book to be lagging in current information and tactics to overcome. I also have an issue with the author regarding the use of the word 'syndrome'. I do believe the term 'Parental Alienation' is an accurate description of a 'malady', and that it is a psychological 'deficiency'. This book indicates that psychiatry and psychology are ahead of the legal community in how to deal with it. I still think that is true today. I have not found many books that deal with the legal aspect of Parental Alienation. This book should be updated (Dr. Gardner has passed on to his great reward) as soon as possible. This is still a great primer on the subject matter and should be foundational in the study of Parental Alienation. This book is more suited for mental health professionals, despite its shortcomings, than the legal professional. But it should not be excluded from any library devoted to Parental Alienation.Read full review
