I loved Brokaw's The Greatest Generation CD commentary and had hoped this was the story again 'with pictures' of the guys and gals he interviewed for the cd. It was not. I enjoyed hearing the vets stories by themselves, but would have appreciated Tom's interaction. I feel this was false advertising to be truthful - Brokaw's on the cover, but no Brokaw. I only watched 3/4's of the first tape, and will watch the rest. What a waste.

I had read the book and thought I might like to see the DVD. Because of its length I borrowed it twice from the library just to view it once. I Realized I wanted to watch it several more times, so I bought it. I love the personal stories, emotions and information conveyed by the veterans. It is the overall best DVD I have ever seen about the U.S. involvement in World War II.

Its a chronicle of those who fought in WWII and preserves their first hand accounts of their experiences in this conflict. They cannot be preserved in a better form than an actual interview.
