Up for bid is another marvelous Dakota Prairie Treasures Spiral Bound Book Republication™ of a stunning collection of original "Teneriffe and Filet Lace Designs and Instructions" originally published in 1903!

We  are pleased to offer you this wonderful collection of antique Victorian Teneriffe Lace, Brazilian, Point, or Taora Lace patterns for your needlework pleasure! This item has instructions, illustrations and photos of many PATTERNS to assist you in making the most deliciously wonderful traditional and unique lace soft furnishings, doilies and clothing re-enactment articles!

This HISTORIC item contains some very charming patterns for making the Victorian and prior era's teneriffe needlework items that were so popular in the 1800's through the 1930's. The degree of needlework difficultly could range from beginner to expert levels depending on the type of wheel pattern you would choose to utilize! (Originals are NOT for sale)

Our new line of Spiral Bound Book Republications™ oh-so-conveniently lie flat while in use!

This is a unbelievably nice touch if you have every tried to read a pattern's instructions while your hands are full of your in progress project. As an avid needleworker myself my personal experience prompted my choice of spiral binding for it's ease-of-use alone. I bet you'll love it too!

Our customers say:

Positive feedback rating "Excellent seller! Smooth transactions & all items received quickly. Thank you!"

Positive feedback rating "Beautiful merchandise, quick delivery! Wonderful eBayer! Would highly recommend!"

All the beautiful wheel laces are shown in the listing collage and there are approximately 65 individual wheels and finished doily and clothing items shown in the product.

An excerpt:

"The varied and beautiful designs that can be made by even the most inexperienced needlewoman is alone sufficient to insure lasting favor for this form of pastime... By using fine or coarse thread there is no end to the pretty effects obtainable.

There are but three principles involved in making Teneriffe lace...Winding the pins for the foundation, weaving or darning, and tying the knot, which is the same as is used in Battenberg or drawn work. The foundation of e every wheel and square is wound in the same manner. The center of every wheel and square is woven in the same manner, and the knotting of the last row is the same in all. Thus it can be readily seen that making Teneriffe lace...is simple, easy, and a pleasant and profitable pastime.

The following are but a few of the many suggestions for its uses: Center pieces, doilies, lunch cloths, dresser scarfs, sofa pillows, pincushions, sash curtains and full length curtains, bed spreads, ect.; combined with Battenberg braids or netting, or used by itself it is beautiful. Medallions of the lace are used button-holed on shirt waists in either cotton, linen or silk, then cut out material underneath and feather stitch around medallions or make French knots around them. They may be used also for yokes, large or small, collars, underwear, handkerchiefs (using the little delicate half wheels), baby bonnets, etc.

A six-year-old child can make Teneriffe and Filet Guipure Lace...with the simple and complete instructions that are given. The only articles needed besides the Wheel or Square and the Book of Instructions are a needle, pins to hold the thread and the thread itself. A common needle, pincushion, ordinary pins and any kind of thread, cotton, linen or silk, may be used..."

I have also included a few extra pages from a 1930's instructional using a wooden teneriffe wheel just because I thought you might enjoy seeing a bit more on this needle art!

What a historically educational and delightful art instructional this is!

The ladies of earlier times put their hands to such marvelous work and now you can too! These are beautiful items and sure to delight you and yours! These instructions are very clear and easy to follow and yet the experience needle worker will be capable of altering as per individual needs and artistic whim.

If you're into nostalgia like I am you will have many hours of enjoyment recreating antique needlework items for yourself or others dear to your heart just the way your great-grandmothers did!
