Excellent Traps at a great price! I highly recommend these traps. I use them in my business and even sell one here and there to my customers. There are a few tips to setting them though. For best results..... Be sure not to touch the trap with your bare hands. Also be sure to make the indention with your heal in middle if fresh run prior to setting Watch a FEW different people set them on youtube videos and you'll figure it out. Very easy. Don't force the trap to close though as you will break one of the teeth. It always seems to be the same side too. Make sure the soil is moist. The run is new. Stay away from rocks and tree roots when setting. Good luck. Highly recommend!

Let me right off that this thing does catch moles. I had this delivered, read the instructions, watched a few videos on youtube and went to work. The first time I sat it, I got one in about an hour. Awesome!! Then I put it in another active trail....nada. Moved it.....nothing.....I moved it 5 or 6 times with no result. After about another 3 days, I got my second one. I won't go into great detail, but this thing is kind of difficult to set. I think with a few design modifications, it could be a great trap. For one, they need to shorten the clamps as they need almost 6" below grade to be able to move. I had purchased the TomCat worms at the same time as this trap. Although those are a bit pricey, they are much more effective. And quick! I will probably still continue to use the trap, just because I have it. But I will also rely mainly on the worms. Good luck! Update: I've used this for over a year now and love it! I've learned how to set it properly and quickly after the first few times. I've caught about 20 moles since purchasing it....4 over a two week period. Again, you need to set it correctly, but you learn how pretty quickly. I love this thing!Read full review

I've tried a lot of things (search "Mole Control Attempts Southeast US" on youtube) and have only been marginally successful. Note that this is in the southeast USA (piedmont), and it it my theory that mole control differs by region. These are small, sneaky little buggers. I have had a lot of practice "stalking" the moles in my yard, previously attempting to bait the active tunnels. I probably got one that way, but this particular mole seemed not to want to eat the poison worm. But I knew of an active tunnel and very carefully set this trap along that run. The moles in my yard seem very suspicious of anything different, and they will tunnel around anything that looks strange to them. In fact, the mole tunneled around this trap when going in one direction, but when coming back, did not tunnel around the trap and "boom", I got him. Note that I carefully slotted, with a straight-blade shovel, the place where the jaw motion would be since I didn't want to have the jaws hit a rock or root and break. I can't say how long this trap will last. I've only used it once, but even if it only works a few times, it's worth it, because I was unable to get moles any other way.Read full review

You have two know the moles "MO." It didn't work the first two times but I finally figured out how to set it in the lawn correctly. The only thing better than the TomCat is waiting patiently with a pellet gun. Good luck.

I tried everything from mole stakes to poison gas but nothing got my stupid mole! 12 hours after receiving my TomCat Mole Trap we were holding a mole funeral! Seriously, it worked great! Easy to set up (follow the instructions!) and worked flawlessly. Thanks!
